Assistant Director (Admin), Integrated HIV, Hepatitis and Thalassemia Control Program Khyber Pakhtunkhwa along with the Divisional Coordinator Mardan Integrated HIV, Hepatitis and Thalassemia Control Program Khyber Pakhtunkhwa attended a meeting of the District AIDS Council, Mardan, held at Mardan. The meeting was chaired by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (Relief), Mr. Iqbal Khattak. Representatives from various Government Departments and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) were also present in the meeting. The session focused on coordination, awareness, and implementation of HIV/AIDS prevention and control measures at the district level.

World AIDS Day 2025 was commemorated at the Family Care Center (FCC) of M***i Mehmood Memorial Teaching Hospital, D.I. Khan, organized by the Integrated HIV, Hepatitis & Thalassemia Control Program Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (IHHTCP-KP) FCC Team, with the valuable support of UNICEF Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The event was marked with great enthusiasm and a strong commitment to this year’s global theme, “Overcoming Disruption, Transforming the AIDS Response.”
It underscored the importance of awareness, prevention, timely treatment, and ongoing support for people living with HIV.
The honoured presence of the Hospital Director of M***i Mehmood Memorial Teaching Hospital greatly motivated the FCC team and reaffirmed the institution’s dedication to strengthening HIV-related services for the community.

World AIDS Day 2025 was commemorated at the Family Care Center (FCC), Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC) Peshawar, by the Integrated HIV, Hepatitis & Thalassemia Control Program Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (IHHTCP-KP) Family Care Center (FCC) Team, with the valuable support of UNICEF Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The event was celebrated with great enthusiasm and commitment to this year’s global theme, “Overcoming Disruption, Transforming the AIDS Response.”
The event highlighted the importance of awareness, prevention, treatment, and continued support for people living with HIV. The presence of the Medical Director and Hospital Director of Hayatabad Medical Complex Peshawar greatly encouraged the FCC team and reaffirmed the hospital’s dedication to strengthening HIV services for the community.

Integrated HIV, Hepatitis and Thalassemia Control Program Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with the support and collaboration of United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (Unicef) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, successfully organized an Advocacy and Awareness Seminar in connection with World AIDS Day 2025, bringing together key stakeholders, development partners, and health professionals committed to strengthening the HIV response in the province.
We were greatly honoured by the esteemed presence of our Honourable Chief Guest, Mr. Khaleeq Ur Rehman, Minister of Health Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, whose leadership and vision continue to inspire efforts toward an HIV-free future.
The event was further enriched by the participation of distinguished guests; Mr. Radoslaw Rzehak, Chief Field Officer UNICEF Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dr. Naeem Awan, Additional Director General Health Services Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Dr. Inam Ullah Khan, Team Lead UNICEF Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Their valuable insights highlighted the importance of collective action, advocacy, and community engagement in combating HIV, promoting awareness, and ensuring access to essential health services for all especially people living with HIV.

The Integrated HIV, Hepatitis & Thalassemia Control Program (IHHTCP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with the support of UNICEF Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, organized a special dinner with the People Living with HIV (PLHIV) at Serena Hotel, Peshawar, in connection with World AIDS Day 2025.
We were honored by the esteemed presence of the Honorable Minister of Health, Mr. Khaleeq Ur Rehman, as Chief Guest. The event was further graced by distinguished guest Dr. Shahid Yunis, Ex–Director General Health Services Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Their participation reflected a strong collective commitment to strengthening HIV/AIDS prevention, care, and support services across the province.
The event was organized under the leadership of Dr. Tariq Hayat, Program Manager/Project Director, Integrated HIV, Hepatitis and Thalassemia Control Program Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Dr. Inam Ullah Khan, Team Lead Health, UNICEF Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The gathering provided an important opportunity to interact with community members, acknowledge the challenges faced by people living with HIV, and reaffirm our dedication to ensuring dignity, inclusivity, and improved health services for all.
A strong message was also conveyed that HIV and AIDS do not spread through casual interactions such as sitting together, and that people living with HIV should not be marginalized or stigmatized within society.
