A wrap-up meeting with the Implementation Support Mission of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) for the Rural Economic Transformation Project (RETP) was held under the chairmanship of Mr. Islam Zaib, Additional Chief Secretary, Planning and Development Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The meeting was attended by a delegation comprising representatives from IFAD and the European Union (EU). The Additional Chief Secretary reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the project and added that the Planning and Development Department will provide all necessary facilitation to achieve the targets.

Secretary P&D, Chief Economist and representatives of relevant sections also attended the meeting.

اجلاس کی صدارت ایڈیشنل چیف سیکرٹری محکمہ منصوبہ بندی و ترقی جناب اسلام زیب نے کی۔ اجلاس میں تمام اعلیٰ ترجیحی منصوبوں پر پیش رفت کا تفصیلی جائزہ لیا گیا۔

تمام سیکٹرز کے حوالے سے ایڈیشنل چیف سیکرٹری کو تفصیلی بریفنگ دی گئی۔ انہوں نے متعلقہ حکام کو ہدایت کی کہ منصوبوں پر مقررہ ٹائم لائن کے اندر پیش رفت کو یقینی بنایا جائے۔

A meeting of the Steering Committee of the Women Electric Mobility Access Program was held under the chairmanship of Mr. Islam Zaib, Additional Chief Secretary, Planning and Development Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Implementation preparations were reviewed during the meeting. The Additional Chief Secretary highlighted the significance of the project and directed the team to ensure all necessary measures for its effective and transparent implementation.

The participants of the 47th Mid-Career Management Course (MCMC) visited the Civil Secretariat, Peshawar today. A meeting with the participants was held under the chairmanship of Mr. Islam Zaib, Additional Chief Secretary, Planning and Development Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Mr. Shahzad Mehboob, Chief Economist, P&D Department, thoroughly briefed the participants on the development priorities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including the Annual Development Programme (ADP), ADP Merged Areas, and the Accelerated Implementation Programme (AIP), with special focus on the merged districts. The participants were also briefed on milestones achieved in successful Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects and upcoming projects in the pipeline.

During the meeting, representatives of the Home and Finance Departments also briefed the participants on their respective domains.

This was followed by a detailed question-and-answer session.

The Additional Chief Secretary extended a warm welcome to the participants and highlighted the strategic and development priorities for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He emphasized commitment to inclusive and sustainable development, particularly in the merged districts, improved service delivery, and economic growth for the well-being of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

During the meeting, avenues of mutual collaboration were discussed and key action points were agreed upon. A meeting regarding the concept note for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Clean Air Project (KP CAP) was held under the chairmanship of Mr. Shahzad Mehboob, Chief Economist, Planning and Development Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The primary focus of the meeting was to strengthen inter-departmental coordination in order to expedite the approval process of the project.

After detailed deliberations, the Chief Economist directed all relevant representatives to take necessary actions to ensure timely processing and approval of the KP CAP.

Planning and Development Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa convenes Joint Portfolio Review Meeting with Development Partners

All development partners, including the World Bank, the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), convened under the co-chairmanship of Mr. Muhammad Humair Karim, Secretary, Economic Affairs Division, and Mr. Islam Zaib, Additional Chief Secretary, Planning and Development Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, to review the foreign-funded portfolio across the province.

A joint deliberation was held on all projects and sectors. The relevant project teams and departments briefed the forum on implementation arrangements, ex*****on status, overall progress, and preparedness for pipeline projects. The primary focus remained on the timely achievement of targets.

Relevant Secretaries and senior officials of the Planning and Development Department also attended the meeting.

The Additional Chief Secretary reaffirmed the Planning and Development Department’s commitment to regularly reviewing progress and providing all requisite facilitation to development partners and line departments.

The 2nd Tripartite Portfolio Review Mission of the Asian Development Bank was held under the chairmanship of Mr. Islam Zaib, Additional Chief Secretary, Planning and Development Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The ADB Mission was led by the Country Operations Head and was attended by relevant Secretaries, the Chief Economist, and project teams.

During the meeting, the financial and physical progress of projects across the province was reviewed, and each project and sector was discussed in detail.

The Additional Chief Secretary directed the relevant officials to expedite project activities and emphasized the need to ensure the accomplishment of targets within the stipulated timelines.

He also lauded the partnership with the Asian Development Bank.
