“Livestock is the backbone of our provincial economy — if there’s one sector to invest in for sustainable growth in KP, it’s livestock, as it is deeply rooted in our culture and livelihoods,” remarked Miss Shandana Gulzar - Member National Assembly during her visit to the Directorate General Livestock and Dairy Development Department - Extension, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on 30-10-2025.

During the visit, she was briefed on the department’s ongoing regular and developmental interventions aimed at strengthening the livestock sector across the province. Miss Shandana Gulzar also discussed the department’s development portfolio in detail and emphasized exploring opportunities with international donors to expedite key interventions for sectoral growth.

The Director General Livestock expressed his sincere gratitude to the Honourable MNA for her valuable time, keen interest, and commitment to the uplift of the livestock sector in KP.

Honourable Minister for Livestock, Fisheries & Cooperative Khyber Pakhtunkhwa graced the Livestock, Poultry & Fisheries Expo at Gul Makai Palace, Peshawar. He was warmly received by Dr. Asal Khan, Director General Livestock and Dairy Development Department - Extension, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and briefed him during visiting various stalls. The Honourable Minister for LFC appreciated the active participation of firms and applauded the Livestock and Dairy Development Department - Extension, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Livestock Cooperative Society - KP, and KP Poultry Cooperative Society for organizing a successful and remarkable event.

A consultative meeting was held between the Director General L&DD (Ext) and the Natural Resource Management (NRM) Team of the Kohat Division Development Project (KDDP), where detailed activities were discussed regarding the prospective Integrated Livestock Development Initiative for Kohat Division. The NRM team was represented by our own Dr. Malik Ayaz Khan Wazir (Ex-Director Livestock, FATA).

A graceful gathering of officers and officials of the Livestock & Dairy Development Department (Extension) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was held today dated 04/09/2025 on the eve of Ashra Rahmat-ul-Lil Aalameen. The event comprised of Khatm-ul-Quran, Naat Khwani, followed by a special talk on Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH) and concluded with Dua-e-Khair.

On the directions of the Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Secretary Livestock, Fisheries and Cooperative Department, Director General Livestock Department, Dr. Asal Khan along with department focal persons visited today the Provincial Emergency Operation Centre (PEOC - PDMA) Peshawar and remained there till late night. An emergency meeting was held with Director Relief - PDMA. The visit aimed to strengthen coordination between the Livestock Department and PDMA for timely reporting of livestock damages and other relevant data, ensuring prompt response and support during the current Flood emergency.
