The Honorable Secretary of Agriculture chaired a meeting on the Project (KPIALDP), funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The session was attended by the ADB Resident Mission team, alongside the Director General of On-Farm Water Management (OFWM) and his technical team.

The Worthy Director General, On Farm Water Management (OFWM), briefed the Honorable Secretary Agriculture regarding the ongoing projects and highlighted the department’s continuous efforts to resolve farmers’ problems by visiting them at their doorsteps at every stage.

The Director General further informed the Honorable Secretary that all district teams are actively engaged in providing technical guidance to farming communities and are conducting meetings to introduce modern smart irrigation systems. The purpose of these initiatives is to create awareness among farmers so they can produce higher crop yields with efficient use of limited water resources.

An unlined irrigation system leads to water wastage and crop damage. Lined channels ensure a regulated flow of water to the fields, providing each crop with the precise amount it needs. This not only conserves water but also maintains soil health and sustains agricultural productivity.”For proper lining, farmers should seek technical assistance from the district offices of On-Farm Water Management and convert their earthen water channels into permanent structures.

Today, the Honorable Secretary Agriculture, Dr. Muhammad Bukhtiar Khan, accompanied by Director General Extension, Muhammad Naveed, Commissioner Mardan Division, Javed Marwat, and former Director General Agriculture Extension, Murad, visited Swabi, the residence of Director General On Farm Water Management, Muhammad Hayat Khan, to express their deepest condolences on the sad demise of his beloved mother and to offer prayers for the eternal peace and highest place in Jannah for the departed soul.

انتہائی افسوس کے ساتھ اطلاع دی جاتی ہے کہ ڈائیریکٹر جنرل آن فارم واٹر منیجمنٹ پشاور جناب محمد حیات خان کی والدہ ماجدہ وفات پا گئیں ہیں جن کا نماز جنازہ آج بروز جمہ یکم مئی 2026، رات 9 بجے شریف آباد، مانیری بالہ ، مردان روڈ، صوابی میں ادا کر دیا گیا۔
دعا ہے اللّٰہ تعالیٰ ان کے درجات بلند فرمائے اور ان کو جنت الفردوس میں اعلیٰ و عظیم مقام عطا فرمائے آمین۔
