*Report on Monsoon Contingency Plan 2026 – Provincial Coordination Meeting*
A Provincial Stakeholders Meeting on the *Monsoon Contingency Plan 2026* was held on the direction of the *Hon’ble Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfaraz Ahmed Bugti*, at the PDMA Conference Hall, Quetta. The meeting was chaired by the *Director (Planning & Coordination), PDMA Balochistan*.
The meeting was attended by representatives of line departments, district administrations, UN agencies, and humanitarian partners.
However, Mr. Asghar Ali Jamali, Deputy Director (Rescue/M&E), PDMA Balochistan participated in the session and highlighted critical priorities for the upcoming monsoon season 2026. He emphasized that *anti-encroachment drives, video documentation of drainage systems, and anticipatory actions* are the most critical components to ensure resilience and safeguard the people of Balochistan from potential floods.
He further urged all stakeholders to play an active role in countering monsoon flood risks and reaffirmed PDMA’s commitment to supporting coordinated efforts aimed at reducing losses and damages during the monsoon season 2026.
The chair directed all concerned departments to finalize departmental contingency plans, ensure timely desilting of nullahs, maintain readiness of rescue equipment, and strengthen early warning dissemination. Regular coordination among all stakeholders was stressed for an effective and timely response.
The meeting concluded with a collective resolve to enhance preparedness and mitigate the impacts of monsoon 2026 across Balochistan.

*PDMA Balochistan Plans Flood Preparedness Mock Drill on N-50 Highway*
_QUETTA:_ The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Balochistan on Monday held a coordination meeting with officials of the National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) and a volunteer organization to finalize arrangements for a flood preparedness mock drill on the N-50 Highway.
The meeting was chaired by Deputy Director PDMA Balochistan, Mr. Asghar Ali Jamali, and attended by the DSP NH&MP, concerned inspectors, and the Chief Executive Officer of the Tiger Volunteer Organization.
Participants reviewed operational plans, coordination mechanisms, and the roles and responsibilities of all stakeholders to ensure the effective conduct of the exercise.
It was decided that the mock drill would be held at the PDMA Kan Mehterzai Rescue Station at the end of June. Representatives of relevant government departments, emergency response agencies, and partner organizations will participate in the exercise aimed at assessing preparedness levels and strengthening coordination for flood emergency response.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Jamali underscored the importance of close coordination among all concerned departments and organizations. He directed stakeholders to complete all necessary arrangements well in advance to ensure the smooth and successful ex*****on of the mock drill.
The exercise forms part of PDMA Balochistan’s ongoing efforts to enhance disaster preparedness and response capabilities ahead of the monsoon season.
