ورلڈ تھلیسمیا ڈے پر تھلیسمیا ویلفئیر سوسائٹی کے تحت منعقدہ سیمینار نے تھلیسمیا کی بڑھتی بیماری کے خلاف آگاہی ۓ مہم چلانے احتیاطی تدابیر اختیار کرنے تھلیسمیا کا شکار بچوں کے لیے خون کے عطیات دینے اور مالی عطیات دینے کی اپیل کی ہے

سیمینار میں بتایا گیا کہ تھلیسمیا ویلفئیر سوسائٹی کے تحت ابتک تھلیسمیا کا شکار بچوں کے 66 بون میٹرو ٹرانسپلانٹ کیے ہیں مستقبل میں ہم ہر سال پچاس بون میرو ٹرانسپلانٹ کرنے کا ارادہ رکھتے ہیں سیمینار کے شرکا کو بتایا گیا کہ تھلیسمیا ڈے منانے کا مقصد بیماری سے آگاہی اور مریض کے ساتھ اظہار یکجہتی ہے تھلیسمیا ایک موروثی بیماری ہے جس کے خلاف ہمیں کام کرتے رہنا ہے ۔صدر تھلیسمیا ویلفئیر سوسائٹی ۔میجر جنرل ریٹائرڈ ڈاکٹر صہیب احمد کا خطاب کرتے ہوئے کہنا تھا کہ تھلیسمیا سوسائٹی نے ترقی کی منازل طے کر تھلیسمیا ہاؤس بنایا گیا۔ہماری واحد این جی او ہے جس میں ٹیکنیکل سپورٹ بہت زیادہ ہے۔ہماری فکلیٹی کسی سے کم نہیں اس کا فائدہ تھلیسمیا کے بچوں کو پہنچ رہا ہےنو پرافٹ پر بون میرو ٹرانسپلانٹ کررہے ہیں بیت المال سے بہت سپورٹ ملتی ہےہم تھلیسمیا سے بچاؤ پر کام کرنا چاہتے ہیں ہمارے ملک میں پچاس ہزار سے ایک لاکھ تھلیسمیا کے بچے ہیں
اس تعداد کو کم کرسکتے تھے مگر نہ کرسکے جس میں آگاہی اور بروقت علاج ہےیہ مہنگا علاج ہے جس کے لیے سپورٹ چاہیے ۔ہمیں سب کو مل کر تھلیسمیا کے بچوں کے لیے فنڈ ریزنگ کرنی ہوگی ۔میڈیکل ڈائریکٹر میجر جنرل ریٹائرڈ ڈاکٹر پرویز احمد کا خطاب کرتے ہوئے کہنا تھا کہ 2022 میں تھلیسمیا کا بورن میرو ٹرانسپلانٹ شروع کیا ٹرانسپلانٹ کا ماڈل نان پرافٹ پر رکھا جو لاگت آتی ہے پچاس سے ساٹھ فیصد کم اوپن مارکیٹ سے ان کا کہنا تھا ہم عطیہ خون کی مہم۔ چلاتے ہیں یہ بلڈ کبھی ضائع نہیں ہوتا لوگ خون کا عطیہ دیتے ہیں ہم بلڈ کینسر اور تھلیسمیا کے مریضوں کا علاج کرتے ہیں ۔گزشتہ تین سال میں 66 بون میرو ٹرانسپلانٹ کیے گے ہیں ہم مالی عطیات کی وجہ سے بہت زیادہ کام کر پا رہے ہیں بیت المال سے ہر سال بڑا عطیہ ملتا ہے مستقبل میں ہم ہر سال پچاس بون میرو کرنا چاہتے ہیں جس کے لیے فنڈ ریزنگ کرنی ہے

PATHWEL–Riphah International University Joint Initiative
Maj Gen (R) Prof. Dr. Parvez Ahmed, Medical Director, Pakistan Thalassemia Welfare Society (PATHWEL), and Maj Gen (R) Prof. Dr. Najm us Saqib Khan, Principal, Islamic International Medical College (Riphah International University), held a productive meeting on April 2, 2026, at Riphah University, Rawalpindi, to discuss the continuation and expansion of areas of mutual interest and collaboration.

The meeting was also attended by Brig (R) Dr. Syed Kamran Mahmood, BMT Physician, PATHWEL, and Brig (R) Dr. Maqsood-ul-Hassan, Vice Principal, Riphah-IIMC, who contributed valuable insights toward strengthening future cooperation between the two institutions.
