Markazi Jamia Masjid Rawalpindi is a mosque located in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. The mosque, which is spread over 18 kanals, is an example of Islamic architecture. Three domes and dozen minarets make up the mosque. The Awqaf Department is in charge of running the mosque. The mosque was founded by Pir Mehr Ali Shah in 1896 and completed in 1902.

Abdur Rahman Momand (1632 – 1706) was a renowned Afghan Sufi Saint, member of Sufi Dervish and poet from Peshawar during the Mughal era. He, along with his contemporary Khushal Khan Khattak, is considered among the most popular poets of the Pashto language. His poetry expresses the mystical side of Islam, in line with his Sufi-oriented nature.

The grave of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb is located in Khuldabad, Aurangabad district, Maharashtra, India. In notable contrast to other Mughal tombs, which are large monuments of Mughal architecture, including the Taj Mahal, at his own direction Aurangzeb is buried in an unmarked grave at the shrine of Sheikh Zainuddin.

Aurangzeb (3 November 1618 – 3 March 1707), the sixth Mughal emperor, ruled most of the Indian subcontinent for half a century until he died on 3 March 1707. According to his wish, he was buried near the dargah of Sheikh Zainuddin, a sufi who was also his spiritual and religious teacher.

The battle of Chillianwala continued for several days. British soldiers fought under Sir Hugh Gough and the Khalsa army was commanded by Raja Sher Singh Attariwala.

Historians believe that 757 soldiers of Gough’s army were killed, 1,651 were wounded and 104 went missing. Around 3,600 Khalsa soldiers died in the battle. Following the battle, both armies claimed victory.

In 1871, an obelisk was erected at Chillianwalla by the British government to pay tribute to the soldiers on both sides who lost their lives in the battle of Chillianwala.

Badshahi Masjid at Night. It was built between 1671 and 1673 by the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb Alamgir.

In 1799, during the rule of Ranjit Singh of the Sikh Empire, the mosque's courtyard was used as a stable and its hujras as soldiers quarters. When the British Empire took control of Lahore in 1846 it was used as a garrison until 1852.
