🔸 NATO Simulation Ecosystem at the 21st NATO Computer Assisted Analysis, Exercise, Experimentation (CA²X²) Forum 🔸

A NATO Joint Force Training Centre delegation, led by the Centre’s Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff, Brigadier General Zoltan Barany, contributed to the Forum with expertise derived from training and exercises.

ℹ️ The NATO CA²X² Forum, organised by the NATO Modelling and Simulation Centre of Excellence, is an annual event that brings together military users, industry, and academia to explore topics such as modelling and simulation, exercises, experimentation, wargaming, analysis, standards, interoperability, and more.

✅ At this year’s Forum, Brigadier General Barany shared his insights and expertise during a key-leader panel discussion entitled “Modelling and Simulation for Multi-Domain Readiness.”

Modelling and simulation systems are among the tools JFTC uses to deliver cutting-edge realism in the exercise environment. By creating the highest level of realism, reflecting the congestion, confusion, complexity, and pressure of contemporary conflict, JFTC ensures that its training and exercises serve NATO warfighters best, and that the Alliance is ready to “fight tonight”.

🔹 Dual-use technology in modern warfare from the perspective of a training centre 🔹

Major General Bogdan Rycerski, Commander of NATO Joint Force Training Centre, was among the key speakers at Dual-Use & Defence, an international conference and technology fair held in , Poland🇵🇱, on 6-7 October.

ℹ️ Dual-use technologies are those that have both civilian and defence & security applications. Technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), drones and autonomous systems are reshaping the way that conflicts are fought and redefining the capabilities required for effective deterrence and defence. NATO must remain on the cutting edge of innovation, developing and adopting new technologies at the speed and scale needed to protect its populations, territory and forces.

âś… During the conference, General Rycerski focused on the use of AI in the planning and ex*****on of NATO exercises, the benefits of using modelling and simulation tools in military training, and the potential of AI tools in command and control systems. He also emphasised the requirements of modern warfare, including the significance of drones, the use of new technologies in field medical care and logistics, and, above all, the consequences of failing to keep pace with modern battlefield requirements.

The Alliance is working with partners across innovation ecosystems, industry, and academia to identify, test, and procure new technologies, while maintaining NATO’s technological edge and military superiority through innovation. In recent years, NATO Allies have worked together to establish an overarching strategy on emerging and disruptive technologies, helping ensure that Allies foster the development and adoption of new technologies while protecting themselves from the use of such technologies by potential adversaries and competitors.

🔹 Focus on logistics – a critical factor in turning military strategy and planning into sustained action.

Even the best-planned operation can fail if forces cannot be moved, supplied, and maintained at the right place and time.

, together with the Joint Logistics Support Group Naples and Allied Joint Force Command Naples - JFCNP, is getting ready for Exercise NOBLE JOLT 2026 – a vignette-based exercise focused on the logistics side of military operations. Over the past week, a team of experts worked hand in hand to produce coherent, validated and executable content, ready for the upcoming exercise.

The annual internal training at concluded today, ensuring our staff remain up to date, prepared and ready to deliver the Centre’s mission.

is more than the NATO Joint Force Training Centre’s motto. While training and exercises such as CWIX and LOYAL LEDA are at the heart of what we do, continuous learning and development are equally important for our own personnel.

This year’s programme combined lectures and practical activities, including first aid training and a fire drill. Particularly valuable for newcomers, it also gave the entire staff an opportunity to refresh their knowledge of key procedures and regulations.

Keeping our people trained and prepared helps ensure smooth cooperation across the Centre and enables to effectively deliver its mission in an ever-changing environment.
