Original mud sealings of Tutankhamun’s tomb on display for first time in Luxor Museum - Ancient Egypt - Antiquities
More than one hundred years after the discovery of the tomb of King Tutankhamun, the original mud sealings that once secured the entrances to the boy king’s burial chambers are now being exhibited to the public for the first time at the Luxor Museum.

An Egyptian archaeological mission working at Sheikh Abd el-Qurna and headed by Dr Zahi Hawass has uncovered a Third Intermediate Period cache containing 22 painted wooden coffins with mummies. A group of eight papyri was also found inside a large pottery jar, some of which still bear their original clay seals.
