MWR Borinquen offers multiple services to its active duty members. We have a Boys and Girls Club, Child Development Center, Ceramics Shop, Community Center and Pelican Pub, Guest Housing, Library, Movie Theater, Tropical Rentals, Sports Programs and a Swimming Pool. All of these services are located in La Plaza besides the Swimming Pool and Community Center and Pelican Pub. The Boys and Girls Club

is for children on base between the ages of 6 and 18. They provide after school services that not only engage your children but also lets them burn off some energy. Every day they have 30 minutes of homework time and 30 to 45 minutes of active play time outside. They offer summer camp from 8:00am to 5:00pm when school is not in session. The Child Development Center is for newborns up to age 5. The CDC has 5 rooms based on age and developmental needs of each child. They offer a half day and full day programs for your children. The Community Center and Pelican Pub serves lunch for $6 every Tuesday and Wednesday, with an ever changing menu which is on the website and is also available in the weekly Beacon. Every Thursday is Wing Night in the Pelican Pub and certain Thursdays there will be a special added on. You can also rent out the facility for special events! Guest Housing offers a few different style houses two three and five bedrooms, each house is fully furnished and provides kitchen supplies. T

The Library has over 13,000 books to check out from young children’s books to adult novels. You can also check out magazines, DVD’s, CD ROM’s, VHS and audio CD’s. They have computers and printers for use as well. Weekly the librarian reads a story to families who come. The times are in the Beacon. The Movie Theater offers a children’s movie and an adult movie every Friday and Saturday. The first movie that is played is always the children’s movie, while the second movie is the adult movie. The movie is free, but we encourage you to purchase snacks like popcorn, hot dogs, nachos, candy and pop for a small fee! Tropical Rentals offers numerous things for you to rent daily for a small fee, they have snorkel gear, beach chairs, canopies, coolers, tables and chairs for events, bouncy houses for kids birthday parties, as well as bicycles. Sports Programs that are offered for youth ages 4 to 13 are basketball, baseball and soccer. Baseball normally starts in January?, Basketball normally starts in August and Soccer is normally in November?. Adult Intramurals that are offered are volleyball, basketball, soccer and softball. Need the order of the sports from Juan. There is the Captains Cup which is offered at?? in the base gymnasium where the Captain will come out and play a game with the active duty members. The Swimming Pool offers many different programs, they have swimming lessons for adults and children, lap swim, buddy swim, and you can rent out the pool for special events. There are yearly memberships that can be purchased, or you can pay a small daily fee. The pool has two slides one in the shallow end and one in the deep end. Main Office:

The Boxtrolls is playing tonight at 6:30!

The Boxtrolls, a community of quirky, mischievous creatures, have lovingly, raised an orphaned human boy named Eggs in the amazing cavernous home they've built beneath the streets of Cheesebridge.
