في إطار إحياء اليوم العالمي للبيئة 2026، نفذت جمعية أصدقاء البيئة الفلسطينية (PEF) فعالية بيئية ومجتمعية في مدينة غزة، ضمن أنشطة التوعية المجتمعية حول إدارة الركام والمخاطر المرتبطة بالأجسام غير المنفجرة، وذلك في إطار مشروع "إدارة الركام الطارئ في قطاع غزة"، بالشراكة مع برنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي(UNDP) وبدعم من وزارة الخارجية النرويجية.
وشهدت الفعالية مشاركة واسعة من أفراد المجتمع المحلي والمتطوعين، حيث تضمنت مجموعة من الأنشطة البيئية والتوعوية الهادفة إلى تعزيز الوعي البيئي وترسيخ ثقافة المسؤولية المجتمعية وكان من أبرز هذه الأنشطة تنفيذ حملة تنظيف مجتمعية شملت تكنيس الشارع وإزالة النفايات وتراكمات الركام المتبقية في المنطقة، بما يسهم في تحسين الواقع البيئي والصحي للمكان.
وتأتي هذه الفعالية تأكيدًا على أهمية العمل المجتمعي المشترك في حماية البيئة وتعزيز القدرة على التعافي في المناطق المتضررة، حيث أسهمت في تعزيز المشاركة المجتمعية وترسيخ السلوكيات البيئية الإيجابية، بما ينسجم مع أهداف المشروع الرامية إلى بناء مجتمعات أكثر أمانًا واستدامة وقدرة على مواجهة التحديات البيئية والإنسانية في قطاع غزة.
As part of marking the World Environment Day 2026, the Palestinian Environmental Friends Association (PEF) implemented a community-based environmental initiative in Gaza City, within the activities designed for the public awareness activities on rubble management and the risks associated with unexploded ordnance (UXO). The event was organized within the framework of the “Emergency Rubble Management in the Gaza Strip” project, implemented in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and supported by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The initiative drew widespread participation from local community members and volunteers featuring a range of environmental and awareness-raising activities aimed at promoting environmental stewardship and strengthening a culture of community responsibility. A key component of the event was a community clean-up campaign that included street sweeping, waste collection, and the removal of remaining rubble accumulations from the area,
This initiative underscores the vital role of collective community action in protecting the environment and supporting recovery efforts in affected areas. By encouraging active community involvement and fostering positive environmental behaviors, the event contributed to advancing the project's objectives of building safer, more resilient, and sustainable communities capable of addressing the environmental and humanitarian challenges facing the Gaza Strip.

تواصل جمعية أصدقاء البيئة الفلسطينية نشاط إنتاج وتوزيع مادة مكافحة يرقات البعوض بدعم من الصندوق الإنساني للأرض الفلسطينية المحتلة ضمن مشروع "تقديم خدمات المياه والصرف الصحي والنظافة بشكل آمن وعادل ومستدام للنازحين داخليًا والعائدين في قطاع غزة"، وذلك في إطار الجهود المستمرة للحد من انتشار الحشرات والأمراض وتحسين الظروف الصحية والبيئية في قطاع غزة.
وشهد الأسبوع الأول من التوزيع إيصال نحو 970 لترًا من مادة مكافحة يرقات البعوض إلى 9 بلديات في قطاع غزة، على أن تستمر عمليات التوزيع خلال الفترة المقبلة حتى الوصول إلى الكمية المستهدفة والبالغة 4040 لترًا على الأقل.
ويأتي هذا التدخل استجابةً للاحتياجات الإنسانية المتزايدة في ظل الظروف البيئية والصحية الصعبة التي يشهدها القطاع، حيث تسعى الجمعية من خلال هذا المشروع إلى تعزيز إجراءات الصحة العامة والحد من المخاطر الناتجة عن انتشار البعوض والحشرات، خاصة في مناطق النزوح والتجمعات السكانية المكتظة.

PEF continues the production and distribution of mosquito larvae control material with support from oPt HF, as part of the project “Safe, Equitable and Sustained Comprehensive WASH Service Delivery for IDPs and Returnees in Gaza Strip.” This activity comes within the ongoing efforts to reduce the spread of insects and diseases and to improve health and environmental conditions in the Gaza Strip.
During the first week of distribution, around 970 liters of mosquito larvae control material were delivered to 9 municipalities across the Gaza Strip. Distribution activities will continue during the coming period until the target quantity of at least 4,040 liters is reached.
This intervention responds to the increasing humanitarian needs under the difficult environmental and health conditions in the Gaza Strip. Through this project, PEF aims to strengthen public health measures and reduce the risks resulting from the spread of mosquitoes and insects, especially in displacement areas and densely populated communities.

حققت جمعية أصدقاء البيئة الفلسطينية (PEF) إنجازًا إنسانيًا لافتًا من خلال تنفيذ مشروع "التدخل الطارئ لإغاثة قطاع غزة في قطاع المياه والإصحاح البيئي"، بالشراكة مع برنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي وسلطة المياه الفلسطينية، وبدعم كريم من مركز الملك سلمان للإغاثة والأعمال الإنسانية، بهدف الاستجابة للاحتياجات الإنسانية العاجلة للسكان والنازحين في قطاع غزة.
وتضمن المشروع توريد وتوزيع نحو 183 ألف متر مكعب من مياه الشرب الآمنة لمختلف مناطق وسط وجنوب قطاع غزة، استفاد منها ما لا يقل عن 170 ألف شخص من النازحين والأسر المتضررة، وذلك عبر أكثر من 350 مخيمًا ومركز إيواء، مما أسهم في تعزيز الوصول إلى مياه شرب آمنة والحد من المخاطر الصحية المرتبطة بتلوث المياه أو شحها.
كما شمل المشروع توزيع 20000 جردلًا وجالونًا على الأسر المستفيدة، لتمكينها من تخزين المياه الصالحة للشرب ونقلها بشكل آمن، وتحسين ممارسات النظافة والصحة العامة داخل مراكز الإيواء والتجمعات السكانية، في ظل التحديات الكبيرة الناتجة عن النقص الحاد في مصادر المياه والخدمات الأساسية.

The Palestinian Environmental Friends Association (PEF) has achieved a significant humanitarian milestone through the implementation of the “Emergency Wash Intervention for Relief in the Gaza Strip” project. The project was implemented in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Palestinian Water Authority, with generous support from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), the project aimed to address the urgent needs of residents and displaced persons across the Gaza Strip.
The intervention successfully supplied and distributed 183,000 cubic meters of safe drinking water to various areas in Middle and southern Gaza. More than 170,000 displaced persons and affected residents benefited from this intervention through more than 350 camps and shelter centers, improving access to safe drinking water and reducing health risks associated with water contamination and scarcity.
In addition, the project distributed approximately 20,000 water storage items (Buckets and jerry cans) to beneficiary households, enabling safe transport and storage of drinking water. This intervention enhanced hygiene and public health practices within shelters and population gatherings, amid the severe challenges resulting from the acute shortage of water resources and essential services

في ظلّ الوضع الإنساني والصحي الصعب الذي تمرّ به مخيمات النزوح في قطاع غزة، وفي ظلّ نقص الوعي والتثقيف الصحي لدى مختلف فئات المجتمع، تبرز الحاجة الملحّة إلى تعزيز برامج التوعية الصحية ونشر المعلومات الوقائية السليمة.
في إطار مشروع " “تحسين وصول السكان المتضررين بشكل آمن إلى خدمات المياه والصرف الصحي والنظافة الصحية من خلال تعزيز الإدارة المجتمعية" أنهت جمعية أصدقاء البيئة الفلسطينية بدعم من الصندوق الإنساني للأرض الفلسطينية المحتلة (oPtHF)نشاط التثقيف الصحي في المخيمات المستهدفة.
حيث يستهدف النشاط الوصول إلى 8400 فرد من النازحين في 4 مخيمات ضمن نطاق المشروع، من خلال جلسات توعوية وأنشطة مجتمعية لتعزيز السلوكيات الصحية السليمة ونشر الممارسات الوقائية المتعلقة بالمياه والصرف الصحي والنظافة الشخصية.

In light the severe humanitarian and public health conditions facing IDPs camps in the Gaza Strip, along with the limited health awareness among different segments of the community, there is an urgent need to strengthen health awareness programs and promote accurate preventive information.
Within the project “Improving affected population safe access to WASH services through strengthen community-based systems” the Palestinian Environmental Friends Association (PEF), with oPt HF, has completed a health awareness activity
The activity targeted 8,453 IDPs across four camps within the project area through awareness visits/sessions and community-based activities aimed at promoting healthy behaviors and enhancing preventive practices related to water, sanitation, and personal hygiene
