Condemnation of Student Oppression in the US: A Call to Sustain Rightful Activism

The Palestine National Liberation Movement, FATEH, condemns the tyrannical actions by the US government for suppressing Student voices, oppressing them, and arbitrary arrests more than 500 student and academic who are protesting the genocide in Gaza and advocate for peace. It is utterly astonishing that students, exercising their fundamental right of free speech and championing a cause of global moral significance, condemning the bombing of schools, churches, mosques, hospitals, and residential blocks, are instead smeared and vilified by their own government in the United States, a nation purportedly founded on principles of freedom, human equality and democracy.

We in Palestine commend the courageous students and academics in the US, who were among the first to heed the call of humanity, standing tall against the glaring oppression and the crimes against humanity in Palestine, despite facing threats from their complicit ruling class and its smearing propaganda.

It is abhorrent that the US government label peaceful protestors championing a just cause as “antisemitic”, especially when Jewish people are among the leaders of these protests and are playing a prominent role in the activism for Palestine for 6 months. The moral compass of the US government appears to have deviated drastically off course, forsaking basic principle of humanity. It is only human to reject 75 years of ethnic cleansing and occupation, to denounce apartheid, to refuse turning a blind eye to the obliteration and starvation of Gaza, and to protest the slaughtering of over 35,000 human beings, of whom 70% are women and children.

The voices of American students advocating for the freedom and independence of the Palestinian people resonate across university campuses worldwide, demonstrating how humanity can unite around a just cause despite political attempts to sow division and wars. We advise the US government to redirect its efforts: rather than targeting peace activists, academics, and students, it should hold accountable those members of Congress who openly call for the murder of Palestinian children. The world can see clearly which side tarnishes the image of America.

We in FATEH extend our heartfelt salutes to the brave student movement in the US and beyond, for championing our just cause of independence and freedom in Palestine. We implore them to persevere without hesitation or despair, for their voices has offered a beacon of hope from the far west to the oppressed Palestinians enduring the flames of Israeli occupation. You are the vanguards of the future, the embodiments of hope for humanity; your unwavering commitment to humane values and principles will illuminate this darkened world plagued by double standards and hypocrisy. In a world where genocide is twisted into self-defense and brutal military occupation is justified as a right to exist, your voices speak truth to power.

The courageous students of America stand in solidarity with billions worldwide who condemn these egregious Israeli crimes against humanity in Palestine. Through their resounding chants, they have brought America back to the global community, unlike their government that is sowing division and destruction among the people.

Long live Free Palestine!
Long live free Peoples!

In Solidarity

*South Africa Expresses Concern at Developments in Jerusalem*

South Africa is appalled by the increased violence and heightened tensions in Jerusalem, particularly at the Al Aqsa Mosque, and the restrictions placed on religious sites, including the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

We strongly condemn the attacks against Palestinians, especially at a time of religious importance for all faiths in the region.

We appeal to the Government of Israel to allow Palestinians their right to worship and gather for prayers in peace. We reaffirm that the holy sites in Jerusalem and the status quo around these sites must be respected.

These blatant violations of human rights and international law, which have been taking place for more than 70 years should no longer be condoned and the international community, including the United Nations Security Council that is tasked with maintaining international peace and security, must act to ensure that states are held accountable for their actions.

South Africa again, calls for consistency from the international community and institutions of global governance in upholding the international rule of law.

South Africa is committed to being part of international efforts aimed at reviving a much needed political process that will lead to the establishment of a viable Palestinian state existing side by side in peace with Israel, and within internationally recognised borders that include sovereign equality between States.

In finding a solution, all people on both sides of the Green Line, in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories must be able to live under conditions free from racism, discrimination of any kind, and, free from violence.

Israeli occupation forces today seized a Palestinian-owned bulldozer while it was working on land reclamation to the south of the occupied West Bank city of Hebron, according to a local resident.

Nabil Sharha, a landowner, told WAFA that the Israeli forces seized a bulldozer he was using to reclaim his land to the south of the village of Dura, near a quarry that they previously had seized.

He noted that his land, which is about 70 dunums in area, is located in Area C, which is under full Israeli military rule, adding that the Israeli authorities have been trying to seize more Palestinian-owned lands to expand the quarry they have seized.
