On March 03/13/ 2026, the Palau Automated Land and Resource Information System (PALARIS) office donated 2 set of GPS unit(s) to the Bureau of Lands and Surveys (BLS). This contribution is intended to support partnership and data sharing, while also strengthening our continued partnership and collaboration.

Asami Jordan Ngirmidol is a senior at Palau High School and a business major with big dreams and goals for her future. While she is still exploring what she would like to major in during college, she is excited to explore different career options and learn more about what might fit her interests. That is why she is looking forward to learning about careers at PALARIS Office. She hopes this opportunity will help her understand more about the working world, build new skills, and guide her in choosing a career path. Asami is motivated and looking forward to the experience she will earn from her practicum.
Weโre happy to support our practicum student as they build skills in Geographic Information Systems (GIS)! ๐
Through handsโon learning, they are gaining experience in mapping, spatial data analysis, and understanding how GIS supports planning and decisionโmaking.
Keep up the great work! ๐

Passing the Binoculars: A New Wave of Palauan Marine Mammal Observers - NOAA Ocean Exploration The visual observers team from Whaleology (Cory Hom-Weaver and Felipe Triana) seized the opportunity to collect data in an understudied part of the Palau national arine Sanctuary.
