The Ministry of Human Resources, Culture, Tourism and Development, through the Bureau of Development, is pleased to announce the launch of 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝟮 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘂’𝘀 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗕𝘂𝘀 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲, beginning April 3.

Building on the success of Phase 1, this expansion introduces more frequent service in Koror, improved access between Melekeok and Koror, extended evening routes on government paydays, and the development of a mobile app to help passengers plan their trips with ease.

These enhancements reflect our continued commitment to providing reliable, accessible, and sustainable transportation for our communities, while improving connectivity across states and supporting economic activity.

We encourage the public to make use of the expanded services and take advantage of this growing transportation network.

This is a notice from the Bureau of Tourism under the Ministry of Human Resources, Culture, Tourism, & Development to all TOUR OPERATORS in the Republic of Palau.

In accordance with Title 11 of the Palau National Code, all tour operator licenses must be renewed by June 30th of every year. ALL TOUR OPERATIONS are hereby advised to register and/or renew their Tour Operator Licenses with the Bureau of Tourism beginning now and must submit a completed Tour Operator's Application by May 01, 2026.

Airai, Palau — This week, the Ministry of Human Resources, Culture, Tourism, and Development, through its Bureau of Tourism, has begun the state rollout of the Destination Information Management System (DIMS), a new platform designed to centralize and manage destination data to support evidence-based tourism planning and sustainable sector development. The system will serve as a digital foundation for improving coordination, strengthening research capacity, and ensuring timely access to key information across Palau’s tourism landscape.

Leading this effort, Information Technology Specialist Kenelly Sambal Rekemel and Communications Specialist Dilkumech I. David conducted its first trial run with the Airai State Government and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to introduce the system’s core functions and provide hands-on training. This trial session marks an important step toward building a unified destination management system that integrates visitor data, tourism supply information, and essential research tools.

The Ministry extends its appreciation to all partners involved as Palau continues moving forward in establishing a modern information system that supports long-term resilience, innovation, and sustainable tourism management.

The Palau Bureau of Public Works, in collaboration with the Koror State Government, has announced the temporary closure of the Minatobashi Bridge waterway to all water vessels from October 15, 2025, until April 10, 2026.

This closure is necessary to facilitate major bridge construction activities, including drilling, piling, and the installation of sheet piles and anchors for barge operations, particularly on the side near Peleliu Club.

To ensure safe navigation and continued operations:

▪︎Boats departing from Happy Fish Market are advised to turn left and use the Ongelungel Channel.

▪︎Boats departing from Peleliu Club or Short Island are advised to turn right through the channel towards Echang.

Tour operators and Boat owners/operators are strongly advised to not use the waterway until completion or further notice from the Bureau of Public Works and/or the Bureau of Tourism. It is also recommended that operators remind their crew and guests that jumping or swimming from the bridge is strictly prohibited during this time.

Your cooperation is crucial to maintaining safe operations and ensuring the timely completion of this important infrastructure project.
