🇩🇪 Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul travelled to New York to campaign for Germany’s candidacy for a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council for the 2027/28 term. 🇺🇳

In addition to meeting many ministers, UN ambassadors and diplomats, the Minister’s speech in a meeting with representatives of the African Group at the UN was key highlight.

Minister Wadephul: „We are ready to stand up for respect, justice, and peace“ - these core values guide the German candidacy, while thematically focusing on conflict prevention, crises resolution, climate and security, if elected. Germany is also committed to a reform of the UN system to ensure among other things better representation for smaller nations.

The UN General Assembly will vote on June 3rd.

🇩🇪 توجّه وزير الخارجية الألماني يوهان فاديفول إلى نيويورك لحشد الدعم لترشّح ألمانيا لعضوية غير دائمة في مجلس الأمن التابع للأمم المتحدة للفترة 2027/2028. 🇺🇳

وخلال الزيارة، التقى الوزير بعدد من الوزراء وسفراء الأمم المتحدة والدبلوماسيين، وكان من أبرز محطات الزيارة كلمته أمام ممثلي المجموعة الإفريقية لدى الأمم المتحدة.

وقال الوزير فاديفول:
“نحن مستعدون للدفاع عن الاحترام والعدالة والسلام.”

وتستند حملة ألمانيا إلى هذه القيم الأساسية، مع التركيز — في حال انتخابها — على الوقاية من النزاعات، وتسوية الأزمات، والعلاقة بين المناخ والأمن. كما تلتزم ألمانيا بدعم إصلاح منظومة الأمم المتحدة بما يضمن تمثيلًا أفضل للدول الأصغر.

ومن المقرر أن تصوّت الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة على هذا الترشيح في 3 يونيو.

⛴️ Earlier this week, the German mine-hunter „Fulda“ departed from Kiel and is now en route to the Mediterranean sea. This deployment is a strategic move to ensure readiness for potential operations in the Strait of Hormuz.

💡Did you know? Germany is a global leader in mine counter-measures. Leveraging decades of expertise and state-of-the-art technology, the German Navy sets the international standard for clearing naval mines and securing sea lanes.

⚡️Ensuring that sea lanes remain open and safe is vital for global energy security and international trade. By pre-positioning the „Fulda,“ Germany is preparing to support international efforts in clearing naval mines and protecting commercial shipping. The task will be done by specialized mine divers for the most complex underwater tasks.

🇩🇪🤝 🌍 Germany remains a committed partner in maintaining stability and safety on the high seas.




⛴️ غادرت كاسحة الألغام الألمانية “فولدا” مدينة كيل الألمانية في وقت سابق من هذا الأسبوع، وهي الآن في طريقها إلى البحر الأبيض المتوسط. ويأتي هذا الانتشار في إطار الاستعداد لأي عمليات محتملة في مضيق هرمز.

💡 هل تعلم؟ تُعد ألمانيا من الدول الرائدة عالميًا في مكافحة الألغام البحرية. فبفضل عقود من الخبرة والتكنولوجيا المتطورة، تضع البحرية الألمانية معايير دولية في إزالة الألغام وتأمين الممرات البحرية.

⚡️ يُعد الحفاظ على الممرات البحرية مفتوحة وآمنة أمرًا أساسيًا لأمن الطاقة العالمي والتجارة الدولية. ومن خلال تمركز السفينة “فولدا” مسبقًا، تستعد ألمانيا لدعم الجهود الدولية في إزالة الألغام البحرية وحماية حركة الشحن التجاري. وسيتولى هذه المهام غواصون متخصصون في إزالة الألغام لتنفيذ أكثر العمليات تعقيدًا تحت الماء.

A strong spirit of international collaboration! The latest business-connect evening - jointly organised by the 🇩🇪 Chamber of Commerce, 🇩🇪 Business Council Qatar, 🇬🇧 Chamber of Commerce Qatar, 🇨🇭 Business Council, 🇫🇷 Business Council, 🇪🇸 Chamber of Commerce, and the 🇶🇦-🇺🇦 Business Forum - took place at the Kempinski Hotel Doha last week, bringing together business leaders, entrepreneurs, high-ranking diplomats including German Ambassador Oliver Owcza, and partners from across sectors to exchange ideas and strengthen international cooperation.

Thank you to all participants for this valuable platform to build connections, foster dialogue, and explore new opportunities. Strong partnerships like this drive innovation, sustainable growth, and mutual prosperity.




أُقيمت النسخة الأخيرة من أمسية “بيزنس كونكت”، التي نُظّمت بشكل مشترك من قبل غرفة التجارة 🇩🇪، ومجلس الأعمال الألماني في قطر 🇩🇪، وغرفة التجارة البريطانية في قطر 🇬🇧، ومجلس الأعمال السويسري 🇨🇭، ومجلس الأعمال الفرنسي 🇫🇷، وغرفة التجارة الإسبانية 🇪🇸، ومنتدى الأعمال القطري-الأوكراني 🇶🇦🇺🇦، وذلك في فندق كمبينسكي الدوحة الأسبوع الماضي.

وجمعت الفعالية نخبة من قادة الأعمال ورواد الأعمال ودبلوماسيين رفيعي المستوى، من بينهم السفير الألماني أوليفر أوفتشا، إلى جانب شركاء من مختلف القطاعات، لتبادل الأفكار وتعزيز التعاون الدولي.

شكرًا لجميع المشاركين على هذه المنصة القيّمة لبناء العلاقات وتعزيز الحوار واستكشاف فرص جديدة. فالشراكات القوية كهذه تدفع عجلة الابتكار والنمو المستدام والازدهار المشترك.

Following the International Sudan Conference in Berlin on April 15, the Berlin Principles on Sudan were adopted by the countries and organizations assembled in Berlin – the African Union, 🇪🇺, 🇫🇷, 🇩🇪, 🇬🇧 and 🇺🇸 as co-hosts, as well as 🇶🇦 and 12 other countries, the 🇺🇳, the Arab League and IGAD.

With Sudan facing the world’s largest humanitarian crisis, this declaration represents a unified call for a peaceful resolution of the conflict with a future governance of Sudan that must be decided by the Sudanese people through an inclusive Intra-Sudanese political process. Protection of civilians and rapid and safe humanitarian access must be granted by all, while respecting the sovereignty of Sudan.

🇩🇪 and 🇶🇦, alongside all signing parties of the Berlin Principles, remain committed to fostering peace, stability, and justice for Sudan.

The conference mobilised € 1.49 billion in aid for Sudan.

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul emphasized:
„This is a major breakthrough for the people of Sudan and for those in the Horn of Africa. It shows that diplomacy can achieve results.“

في أعقاب المؤتمر الدولي حول السودان الذي عُقد في برلين في 15 أبريل، تم اعتماد مبادئ برلين بشأن السودان من قبل الدول والمنظمات المشاركة، بما في ذلك الاتحاد الإفريقي، 🇪🇺، 🇫🇷، 🇩🇪، 🇬🇧 و🇺🇸 كمضيفين مشاركين، إضافة إلى 🇶🇦 و12 دولة أخرى، والأمم المتحدة، وجامعة الدول العربية، ومنظمة الإيغاد.

وفي ظل مواجهة السودان لأكبر أزمة إنسانية في العالم، تمثّل هذه المبادئ دعوة موحّدة لإيجاد حل سلمي للنزاع، على أن يُحدَّد مستقبل الحكم في السودان من قبل الشعب السوداني عبر عملية سياسية شاملة بقيادة سودانية. كما شددت على ضرورة حماية المدنيين وضمان وصول المساعدات الإنسانية بشكل سريع وآمن مع احترام سيادة السودان.

تؤكد 🇩🇪 و🇶🇦، إلى جانب جميع الأطراف الموقّعة على مبادئ برلين، التزامها بـ تعزيز السلام والاستقرار والعدالة في السودان.

وقد نجح المؤتمر في حشد 1.49 مليار يورو كمساعدات للسودان.

وأكد وزير الخارجية الألماني يوهان فاديفول:
“يمثل هذا إنجازًا مهمًا لشعب السودان ولمنطقة القرن الإفريقي، ويُظهر أن الدبلوماسية يمكن أن تحقق نتائج.

Today marks World Press Freedom Day.

This day serves as an important opportunity to celebrate the fundamental principles of press freedom and to pay tribute to journalists who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

Why is freedom of press so important? 👉 It enables independent reporting and thus the formation of free and informed opinions.

🇩🇪 stands up for the freedom, independence and safety of press and media worldwide and works to promote these internationally through various initiatives such as Germany’s active membership in the Media Freedom Coalition (MFC).

Did you know that the top 19 positions in the World Press Freedom Index consist exclusively of countries in Europe including 🇩🇪 on rank 14?
