The Black Sea supports millions of livelihoods but faces pollution, climate change and resource pressures. project brought together Türkiye, Bulgaria and Greece to turn awareness into action.
The project partners co-created a common education programme and manual (EN/TR/EL/BG) after listening to NGOs, authorities, experts and young people in four online workshops. Two international Training-of-Trainers events then enabled:
💙36 trainings for 722 young adults
💙15 trainings for 148 local government representatives
focused on ocean literacy, sustainability and Black Sea challenges.
EOL also produced a White Paper on Education for Environmental Sustainability with recommendations for policy and education, and strengthened the Environmental Literacy Network (ELN), which welcomed 16 new members. More people now have the knowledge and tools to help protect the . 💙🌊

The International GreenMascot Student Contest 2026 is now open!
Students from Bulgaria, Türkiye, Romania and Greece are invited to create an original mascot inspired by a threatened species, plant or ecosystem of the and connect it with a practical environmental action promoted through sport.
Teams of 2–3 students and one teacher or mentor are invited to submit:
💡 An original concept
🎥 A video of up to 3 minutes
💻 A short presentation in English explaining the environmental cause and proposed action
Following the national selection, eight teams (two from each participating country) will advance to the international final in Naoussa, Greece. One concept will be selected as the GreenMascot of the Black Sea Basin.
📅 Applications are open from 1 October to 9 November 2026.

Algae K-Hub developed by AlgaeRevive Project, brings together research institutions, universities, public authorities and industry partners from 🇧🇬 Bulgaria, 🇷🇴 Romania, 🇬🇷 Greece, 🇬🇪 Georgia and 🇺🇦 Ukraine.
🔬 Explore scientific data, publications, tools and resources
🤝 Connect with stakeholders through the Collaboration Hub and discussion forums
🗺️ Discover algae-related spatial information through the GIS Maps module
The platform is open and free to register, welcoming stakeholders beyond the project partnership. The Algae K-Hub is one of the three pillars of the AlgaeRevive knowledge infrastructure, alongside the AI-powered AlgaeSense monitoring tool and the partners' shared scientific infrastructure.

🌍 4 Countries. 12 Student Projects. One International Stage.
After two years of learning, experimenting, designing and creating across the Black Sea Basin, project Ecosystem Hub is reaching one of its most significant and powerful final milestones.

On 7–8 October 2026, young people from Türkiye, Greece, Ukraine and Bulgaria will come together in Xanthi, Greece, for the International Environment & Science Festival.

Selected student projects developed through E-STEM and Design Thinking will take the international stage, transforming environmental challenges into ideas, experiments and innovative solutions.

More than a festival, this is a celebration of what young minds can achieve when science, creativity and cross-border cooperation come together for a shared and greener future.

🌊 New LEARN4SEA Guidelines for a better-protected Black Sea Basin!
Learn4Sea Project has developed Guidelines to help authorities and environmental stakeholders strengthen cooperation, coordinate actions and reduce pollution across the Black Sea Basin.
The Guidelines bring together lessons from Romania, Bulgaria, Georgia and Türkiye, drawing on environmental monitoring, stakeholder consultations and institutional analysis.
🔹 A multi-level cooperation mechanism
🔹 The quadruple helix approach: authorities, academia, private sector and civil society
🔹 Evidence-based decision-making
🔹 Continuous monitoring, evaluation and adaptation
🔹 Practical recommendations for long-term cooperation
