Our individual perception of the world in which we live is different for each of us. The Universe, seen as the place and time where all of our worlds coexist and interact, can become better, more enjoyable and happier if these differences will constitute the elements of bridges that unite us rather than bricks in walls that divide us.

Did you think we were done sharing our summer adventures? Not quite! 😁 We kept a few stories for later!

🇧🇪 From 17–26 August 2026, Asociația Babilon Travel joined another Erasmus+ Youth Exchange, this time as a partner in “VIPSport Without Barriers”, hosted by VIEWS International in Botassart, Belgium!

Our Romanian group joined young people from different European countries to discover how sport can bring people together, regardless of their abilities! Through inclusive sports, teamwork challenges, outdoor adventures, intercultural activities and lots of fun, participants explored accessibility, cooperation and the importance of breaking barriers.

From adapted sports to nature walks and creative workshops, it was all about trying new things, supporting each other and proving that sport is for everyone! 💙

A big thank you to Views international and all the partners for this wonderful experience!

🇪🇺 The project was funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ Programme.

Și dacă ai avea 7 zile în care să treci de la „am o idee” la „hai să fac ceva cu ea”?

Mai avem 5 locuri pentru tineri din România la cursul internațional „From Voice to Action”, care va avea loc în perioada 5–13 noiembrie, în județul Cluj.

Și nu, nu vom sta 7 zile într-o sală. 😄

EN:
One of the most important results of the Open Door project is now ready to be shared! 🌿
Together with our partners, we created the Open Door Manual and the Standards for working with people with disabilities in nature, practical resources built from two years of learning, training, testing, exchanging experiences and working directly with young people.
The Manual brings together useful ideas, methods, examples and recommendations for youth workers, facilitators and organisations interested in inclusive outdoor education, Adventure Therapy and Wilderness Therapy. The Standards complement it with clear guidance for making nature-based activities safer, more accessible and more inclusive.
We warmly invite you to discover and download the Manual and Standards from the Open Door website. They are available in several languages, including English and Romanian.
You can also find there the 8 short instructional videos created by the project partners, presenting practical examples of adapted nature-based activities and how they can be used in practice.
You can explore all these results here:
https://opendoorproject.eu/project-results/
We hope these resources will continue travelling far beyond the project itself and inspire many more inclusive experiences in nature.

What would help YOU participate fully in a workshop, a classroom or a workplace?

Which format works best for you, and how do you prefer to communicate? Tell us one thing you wish youth workers, educators or employers would ask you about your needs and preferences. Through Inclusive Horizons (InHo), we encourage people to ask, listen and adapt so everyone has a better chance to participate.

One of the greatest joys for us is when a project is coming to an end and we finally get the chance to share with everyone what we have done, what we have created, and all the work, learning, fun and adventures we have lived along the way.

The Open Door project is ending this month, and after two years together, it was a real pleasure to look back at everything we experienced with our partners and with the wonderful group of young people who have been part of this journey.

So, this Saturday, 3 October, we gathered at Cinema Mărăști in Cluj-Napoca for the Open Door Multiplier Event, and what a day it was! Around 60 people joined us to discover the project, hear about the activities we carried out in the four partner countries, learn more about our local testing programme in Romania, meet some of the young people directly involved, and explore the results we created together.

None of this would have been possible without the partnership behind Open Door. A huge thank you to our coordinator, Fundacja Imago from Poland, and to our partners Experientia from Spain, the Association for Wilderness and Adventure Therapy in the Czech Republic, and, of course, our team at Asociatia Babilon Travel. For two years we learned from each other, challenged each other, travelled, trained, tested ideas, adapted activities and created something that we truly hope will continue to be useful long after the official end of the project.

A very special thank you goes to our amazing group of young people who stayed close to the project for almost its entire journey. You tested activities, stepped outside your comfort zones, shared your opinions honestly, trusted us and each other, and helped us understand what inclusion in nature really means in practice. Open Door would simply not be the same without you.

Thank you to Cinema Mărăști for welcoming us and giving us such a great space for this event, and to Radio Cluj and Radio România Cultural for being close to us and helping us bring the story of Open Door to a wider audience.

And last, but definitely not least: our fantastic volunteers. Organising an event for around 60 people takes many hands, a lot of energy and quite a bit of behind-the-scenes magic. From welcoming participants and preparing the space to helping with catering, logistics and everything in between, you made the day work. Thank you!

This is one of those projects we are going to miss a lot. But fortunately, projects do not really end when the funding period finishes. The friendships, the partnerships, the memories, the skills we gained and, most importantly, the results we created together will remain.

How are great partnerships formed?

Not just around a table, and definitely not just by filling in project forms. 😄

They start with conversations, shared ideas, a bit of brainstorming, lots of curiosity and, most importantly, people who are open to building something together.

Back in September, Budapest brought together 11 organisations for our Partnership Building Activity, creating space to exchange experiences, discover common interests and explore new ideas for future cooperation.

Three days of discussions, networking, new connections and plenty of “What if we did this together?” moments. 💡

Because stronger partnerships can lead to more inclusive opportunities for young people and sometimes, the best projects start with a simple conversation.

September came with plenty of energy, new ideas and some very good questions.

One of them followed us for five days in Rezekne, Latvia: what makes youth work truly good, and how do we make its value visible?

From 17 to 21 September, “Quality and Recognition of Youth Work” brought together 20 youth workers from Romania, Hungary, Serbia, Poland and Latvia.

We talked, questioned our own practices, exchanged experiences and worked together on ways to improve the quality of youth work and strengthen its recognition. Inclusion was an important part of these conversations too: quality youth work should not only look good on paper, but actually work for different young people, with different realities and needs.

Five days passed quickly. We left Rezekne with new tools and perspectives, but also with new connections and quite a few ideas that will travel back with us to our organisations and communities.

A warm thank you to our partners Square of Youth (Hungary), AzBuki (Serbia), Humancentric Foundation (Poland) and NGO “For active society” (Latvia), and of course to everyone who brought their experience, curiosity and personality into the group.

And now, back home, time to put some of those ideas into practice.
