Next in our TechSocialcare partner series: the Ministry of Health of Canton Sarajevo.

The Ministry brings a very practical perspective to the project: how to make digital and assistive technologies part of everyday health services, not just one-off projects.

In TechSocialcare, it is working on clearer guidance for using ICT tools, minimum functional requirements, training for professionals and caregivers, and better coordination between institutions. This is especially important in a region where access to services and digital infrastructure can differ between urban and rural areas.

Its role is to help turn project findings into policy changes that make new technologies easier to introduce, safer to use and more useful for both providers and people receiving care.

Yesterday, we brought our Czech TechSocialcare stakeholders together in Prague to discuss what really matters when assistive technologies move into everyday care.

We looked at the emerging standards framework, good practices from across Europe, planned policy changes and our practical AT cards. One thing came through clearly: buying technology is the easy part. Making it useful, understandable and sustainable is where the real work begins.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, shared their experience and gave us plenty to think about.

Next in our TechSocialcare partner series: Atlantic Technological University, the project’s Advisory Partner.

ATU brings experience from social care, AI, data analytics and social robotics. Its researchers have worked on how assistive robots can be used in care settings and how future professionals can be prepared to use them responsibly.

In TechSocialcare, ATU helps partners look at good practices with a critical eye. Not every interesting idea is ready to be copied elsewhere, so the team helps assess what works, why it works and under what conditions it could be transferred.

ATU also supports workshops, study visits and policy analysis, helping the consortium focus on solutions that are not only innovative, but genuinely useful in practice.

Two days, 50+ participants and a very full agenda.

Our 3rd TechSocialcare Interregional Event in Athens brought partners and stakeholders together to compare progress on policy instruments, share new good practices and discuss what it really takes to transfer promising technology solutions into different regional settings.

We also stepped outside the meeting room, visiting Agios Savvas Hospital to learn about its Hospital-at-Home service and Athens Nursing Home, where we explored elderly-care practices and saw a geriatric simulation suit in action.

Strong stakeholder participation made the discussions even more valuable and brought plenty of real-life experience into the room.

A big thank you to our Greek partners at the Ministry of Health’s NSRF Executive Agency and for hosting us and keeping two very busy days running so smoothly.

Athens definitely set the bar high for our next meeting.

Next in our TechSocialcare partner series: ASA Institute for Research, Development and Innovation.

ASA Institute brings together people who do not always meet around the same table: patients, clinicians, researchers, companies and public authorities. Connected to ASA Hospital and the wider ASA Group, it focuses on turning research and new ideas into practical benefits for healthcare and society.

This is also what ASA brings to TechSocialcare. Its team helps connect discussions about technical standards with the reality of health and care services in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Thanks to its links across research, clinical practice, industry and public administration, it can look at new technologies from several angles, not only as technical products.

The aim is to make sure innovation can move beyond research and become something that services, professionals and patients can actually benefit from.

✈️ Next stop: Athens!

Already next Tuesday, 6 October, the TechSocialcare consortium and project stakeholders will meet in person again for our 3rd Interregional Event. And this time, we’re expecting quite a crowd: 55 participants are already registered!

Over two days, we’ll compare progress on our policy instruments, share new good practices, work together in an interactive workshop and head out for study visits to Agios Savvas Hospital and Athens Nursing Home.

We’ll be sharing updates, photos and highlights directly from Athens, so stay tuned and follow along!

Next in our TechSocialcare partner series: the Industrial Systems Institute of Athena Research Center.

ISI brings strong expertise in ICT, advanced technologies and healthcare digitalisation. Its researchers work on intelligent systems, monitoring tools and other solutions that can improve care in practice.

In TechSocialcare, ISI helps connect technical research with policy. Together with the Greek Ministry of Health, it looks at how new technologies can be used safely, reliably and on a larger scale.

Its role is especially valuable because the team understands both sides: what technology can offer and what public services need before they can actually use it.

TechSocialcare was on stage in Prague last week.

At the conference Modern Approaches in Remote Care and Rehabilitation Medicine, Vít Janovský from UCEEB České vysoké učení technické v Praze presented how standards can help make the introduction of assistive technologies safer and more effective in social and healthcare services.

The event brought together experts from medicine, rehabilitation and technology, with topics ranging from telemedicine and telerehabilitation to AI, cybersecurity and assistive technologies.

It was also a great opportunity to introduce TechSocialcare and show why better rules, clearer requirements and practical standards matter if new technologies are to move from promising ideas into everyday care.

Next in our TechSocialcare partner series: the Municipality of Agnone.

Agnone brings the local perspective to the project. It works closely with a wider network of municipalities and knows what it takes to turn regional and European policies into something that actually works in small towns and rural areas.

The municipality has experience in health and social services, community engagement, digital literacy and European projects. In TechSocialcare, it helps make sure that new standards and recommendations are realistic for local services, not only for large institutions.

Agnone is also exploring how assistive technologies and remote support can strengthen home care, support caregivers and help people stay independent for longer.
