Last night, we were honored to celebrate 250 years of American independence and excellence alongside friends, partners, and members of the community from across Rwanda. This historic milestone is not only a moment to reflect on America’s journey, but also an opportunity to recognize the strong and growing partnership between the United States and Rwanda.

It was a treat to welcome American students and faculty from Spelman College and Virginia State University. It’s great to see these students explore history, culture, and partnership here in Rwanda.

Rwanda: On May 22, 2026, the Ministry of Health of Rwanda announced that all foreign nationals who have traveled to, or transited through, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) within 30 days of their travel to Rwanda will be denied entry.
