They discussed ways to turn strategy into action through innovation, smart financing, and partnerships that accelerate ’s national development journey.

Today, the Government of Rwanda, together with United Nations in Rwanda, United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) and The UN Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), briefed Member States and Cooperation Partners on the outcomes of the Second World Summit for Social Development (WSSD2) and its relevance to Rwanda’s development journey.

The briefing highlighted a shared commitment to people-centred development, social justice, decent work and inclusion—placing people at the heart of policy, investment and transformation to accelerate sustainable, resilient and inclusive development for all in Rwanda.

“Rwanda remains firmly committed to Delivering as One, not the UN alone delivering as one, but all of us together.” At today’s One UN Steering Committee, Minister of Finance Hon. Yusuf Murangwa reaffirmed GoR leadership and partnership in advancing the hashtag 2025–2029 aligned with hashtag and Vision 2050.

“Under UNSDCF 2025–2029, we are committed to doing things differently. Over recent months, we developed flagship Joint Programmes bankable investment cases aligned with NST2. This marks a shift from fragmented projects to integrated, scalable and co-financed solutions.” -Ozonnia Ojielo

Despite global financing challenges, the Government of Rwanda and the UN reaffirmed their shared commitment to leaving no one behind, strengthening resilience and delivering sustainable development outcomes for all Rwandans—through partnership, innovation and results.

Yesterday, the UN Resident Coordinator Ozonnia Ojielo visited African Leadership University for insightful conversations on AgriTech innovation and the power of storytelling in shaping the future of Africa’s agriculture.

UN Resident Coordinator Ozonnia Ojielo welcomed a delegation preparing for the Africa Water & Sanitation Systems Leadership Symposium 2026 in Kigali.

They explored partnerships to accelerate water and sanitation transformation and investment pathways, advancing the 2063 Africa Water Vision across Africa.
