At , RMB CEO Alice Uwase participated in a high-level panel discussion on “Mining, AI & Manufacturing: Anchoring the Case for Nuclear Energy Deployment.”
The session explored how Africa’s growing industrialisation, expanding AI infrastructure, manufacturing growth, and mineral processing ambitions are increasing demand for reliable, scalable, and sustainable power solutions.
Discussions highlighted the role of industrial off-takers, long-term PPAs, and demand aggregation in strengthening the bankability of nuclear energy projects and positioning nuclear energy as a catalyst for industrial competitiveness and economic growth.
For energy-intensive sectors such as mining and mineral processing, the deployment of SMRs and MRs could accelerate mechanisation, support mineral value addition, strengthen energy security, and unlock Africa’s full industrial potential.
