The band is back in town!
The Australian Army Band has arrived in Solomon Islands and will be here for the next month. To help get ready for the King’s Birthday celebrations, they have gifted a new set of ceremonial informs to the RSIPF band. Both bands will be performing together as part of the parade on 7 July.
The two bands will also be giving free performances for the community in the coming weeks, so keep an eye out for where you can see them next!

Making Gizo SDA Kindergarten safe and secure 🔒
Gizo SDA Kindergarten now has a brand-new fence thanks to the Solomon Islands Australia Community Partnerships!
This important project will help ensure all students have a safe and secure learning environment by minimising disturbances from outsiders and wild dogs, and protecting the school property. A safe school not only gives parents peace-of-mind but is also the foundation for improved learning outcomes.
Thank you to the school administration, community leaders and parents for their hard work in making this project a success.

Improved health and hygiene for students in Irigilla Ward 🚑
Five schools across Irigilla Ward in North Vella la Vella, Western Province now have a new handwashing station thanks to the Solomon Islands–Australia Community Partnerships.
This project will improve sanitation and hygiene for hundreds of students and lead to better education attendance and outcomes. Handwashing is a simple, but important tool in helping reduce the spread of illness and communicable diseases.
