Residents in Siwai, Auki are celebrating the completion of a new 170-meter paved footpath under the CAUSE II Project. ππ½
The new pathway now provides safer and easier access for women, children, vendors, churchgoers, and the elderly β especially during floods and high tides. ππ£

BIG THINGS are happening through the CAUSE II Project across Solomon Islands!
π§ Construction has officially begun on the Tisi-Lauru Valley Jacobs Ladder Project in Gizo, Western Provinceβ improving safe community access and creating local employment opportunities.
π And in Honiara, 58-year-old David Malefo is proving that itβs never too late to learn, inspiring communities through literacy and work-readiness training under CAUSE II.

π’ Latest Updates from the CAUSE II Project! πΈπ§
π§ Major improvement works are now underway at the Noro Fish Market, including the construction of a new lower landing deck and modern fish stall facility to improve safety, accessibility, and convenience for fishermen, vendors, and customers.
π·ββοΈ At the same time, CAUSE II is also inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from qualified individuals for a range of employment opportunities, including technical, administrative, and field-based roles across project locations.
These initiatives reflect CAUSE IIβs ongoing commitment to strengthening community infrastructure, supporting local livelihoods, and creating employment opportunities across Solomon Islands.

π World Bank Leadership Visits CAUSE II Project Sites! π
Last week, we were proud to welcome Mr. Han Fraeters, World Bank Division Director for PNG, Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu, on his first official visit to Honiara. π
Together with the CAUSE II team, he toured ongoing works in West Kolaβa Valley, met our hardworking community crews β including the inspiring group of hearing-impaired workers under the Waste Cleaning & Collection Program β and visited the proposed Mbokona Bridge upgrade site.
His visit highlighted what makes CAUSE II special:

βοΈ Safer, climate-resilient urban infrastructure
