Officer Cadets from 141/25 OCC recently took part in LEO III and the Inter-Arms Relay, two cornerstone events of Joint Term that test both Joint leadership and Formation pride.
They competed for the Dr Goh Keng Swee Challenge Shield, an award that has evolved alongside OCS training. Once presented after the Platoon Assault Course during Infantry Pro-Term, the Shield now reflects a more Joint SAF, recognising not only physical excellence but the ability to integrate, coordinate and lead across Services. LEO III at Joint syndicate level reflects this shift, preparing future officers for the realities of Joint operations.
For 141/25, LEO III was conducted at a Joint syndicate level, bringing together Army, Air Force, Navy and DIS cadets into newly formed teams. Instead of operating within familiar platoons, cadets had to build cohesion from scratch, align strengths across Services, and lead beyond their own domains. Across SAFTI’s signature infrastructure such as SEOC and SAOC, syndicates were pushed physically and mentally, proving their ability to adapt and perform as a unified team.
The Inter-Arms Relay saw Formations and Services go head-to-head in a fast-paced test of speed, endurance and teamwork. Competing for its own award, the relay remains a powerful display of Service pride and fighting spirit, complementing the Joint focus of LEO III with a celebration of Formation and Service identity.

To commemorate MIDS Wing's 52nd Anniversary, the 108th Midshipmen Course conceptualised and executed a commemorative sports challenge that brought MIDS Wing's rich history to life.
Bringing together both the 107th and 108th Midshipmen Courses, participants embarked on a journey through key milestones, traditions and defining moments that have shaped MIDS Wing over the past five decades. Through a series of physically and mentally demanding challenges, Midshipmen tested their resilience, teamwork and leadership while gaining a deeper appreciation of the legacy they now inherit.
Beyond the competition, the event served as a reminder that every Midshipman is part of a story much larger than themselves, a story built by generations of naval leaders who have passed through the halls of MIDS Wing.
As we celebrate 52 years of excellence, we honour the traditions that unite us, the leaders who came before us, and the generations of Midshipmen who will continue to carry the MIDS Wing spirit forward.
Happy 52nd Anniversary, MIDS Wing.
