- Over 770 four-room HDB flats can be powered annually by the rooftop solar farm at Supply Chain City (SCC). Close to 8,000 panels will not only provide renewable energy but will also prevent about 1.5 million kilogrammes of carbon dioxide emissions each year, equivalent to taking 320 cars off the road! This further enhances the sustainability of SCC, already a BCA Green Mark (Platinum) and US Green Building Council LEED Platinum certified building.

The journey does not end here of course. Moving forward, we aim to have our entire Asia Pacific operations run on 100% renewable energy as we look at greening the supply chain!

As we encourage lifelong learning among our seniors as they acclimatise to the digital world, initiatives such as Infocomm Media Development Authority - IMDA’s SDO@Workplace initiative ensure they will also have a part in Singapore’s digital future. And with Supply Chain City (SCC) being one of the community hubs for SG Digital Office’s outreach efforts and the first workplace to come onboard, it ties nicely with SCC’s mantra of “Work, Learn and Live”, as the supply chain icon will not only serve the community around itself but also for the whole Jurong Innovation District (JID) too.

Supply Chain City - Asia's supply chain icon - playing a role in the post-COVID recovery

Today's global supply chain is becoming more demanding as there is a growing need to optimise its complexities and to satisfy the escalating expectations of customers. Reiterated by Mr Gan Kim Yong, Minister for Trade & Industry (Singapore), after his visit to YCH's cold chain distribution centre at Supply Chain City previously, COVID-19 has demonstrated the need for supply chain flexibility, as it ensures agility and adaptability to evolve to meet ever-changing conditions.

YCH has been playing an active role in building up Singapore's inventory of food and essential items while also ensuring supply chain diversification. Incorporating innovative strategies to manage supply chain risk, foreseen or unforeseen, allows business continuity - ensuring that the supply chain is robust enough to pull through disruptive influences.

As the nexus of supply chain excellence, Supply Chain City aims to not only accelerate industry best practices but also to play an important role in the post-Covid-19 recovery in Singapore. Supply Chain City houses one of the largest cold chain warehousing facility that supports the continued flow of goods and essential services during this unprecedented time.

Supply Chain City, Asia’s supply chain nerve centre welcomed delegates from local SMEs today in a tour organised by Singapore Manufacturing Federation. Delegates were able to learn about Supply Chain City’s knowledge-based LEARN ecosystem along with YCH Group's award-winning supply chain solutions and innovations.
