As Ukraine marks Journalists’ Day today, we underscore the vital mission of telling the truth about Russia’s war against Ukraine, documenting the crimes of the aggressor state, and sharing the realities faced by the Ukrainian people with the world.

This mission is not easy and is often carried out under extremely dangerous conditions. We are grateful to all journalists who continue their work despite the serious risks, helping ensure that facts prevail over propaganda and that the truth is heard.

Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, at least 149 media professionals have been killed, including 21 while carrying out their journalistic duties. Around 30 Ukrainian journalists and media workers remain in Russian captivity.

Eternal memory to all those who lost their lives due to Russia’s aggression. Ukraine works every day to secure the release of every media employee from Russia’s brutal captivity.

"Our sincere gratitude to Singapore Red Cross for its generous humanitarian support provided to the Centre for Social & Psychological Rehabilitation of Children in Sumy, Ukraine.
This important contribution includes essential equipment and supplies that will significantly improve the living, learning, healthcare and recovery conditions for children under the Center’s care.
The assistance package includes household and kitchen equipment, medical furniture and devices, emergency and sanitary supplies, clothing, hygiene products, office materials, and many other items necessary for the daily operation of the two rehabilitation facilities of the Centre.
Beyond the material value of this support, it is a powerful message of solidarity and compassion toward Ukrainian children who continue to face the consequences of Russia’s war against Ukraine.
By helping create a safer and more supportive environment for these kids, Singapore Red Cross is making a meaningful difference in the lives of some of the most vulnerable members of our society.

On 4 June, Ukraine commemorates the memory of children whose lives were taken as a result of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.
For more than 12 years, Ukrainian children have suffered from Russian aggression. Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022, they have become targets of a systematic policy of terror, deportation, forced assimilation, militarisation, and the erasure of Ukrainian identity.
One of Russia’s gravest crimes remains the illegal deportation and forced transfer of Ukrainian children. Russia conceals information about their whereabouts, alters their personal data, imposes Russian citizenship, places children in Russian families and state institutions, and subjects them to ideological indoctrination, militarisation, and forced Russification.
Through the President of Ukraine’s Bring Kids Back UA initiative, and in cooperation with state institutions, civil society, and international partners, Ukraine is building a comprehensive system for the identification, return, rehabilitation, and reintegration of children affected by Russian aggression.
An important instrument in these efforts is the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children, co-chaired by Ukraine and Canada. It coordinates international efforts related to locating children, ensuring their safe return and reintegration, documenting crimes, strengthening sanctions pressure, and holding perpetrators accountable.
The MFA of Ukraine calls on the international community to intensify political, diplomatic, sanctions, and legal pressure on Russia.
We urge partners to strengthen support for the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children. We also call on states and international organisations to maintain and strengthen sanctions against all individuals and entities involved in the illegal deportation, forced transfer, militarisation, indoctrination, and illegal adoption of Ukrainian children.
We remember every child whose life was taken by Russia.
We fight for every child whom Russia seeks to take away from Ukraine.
We will bring every Ukrainian child home.

On the night of June 2, Russia launched another large-scale attack against Ukraine.
In Kyiv, Russian attack killed four people and injured at least 58, including three children. The strikes damaged residential buildings and civilian infrastructure across several districts of the capital. A nine-storey residential building was hit, causing the partial collapse of its upper floors. Emergency services continue to search the rubble as people may still be trapped underneath.
In the Dnipro region, seven people were killed and 35 injured in Russian attacks on residential areas in Dnipro and Kamianske. Among them are 3 kids. During rescue operations following the initial strike, Russia launched a second attack that killed a rescuer. Search and rescue operations continue.
In the Kharkiv region, Russian attack injured at least 14 people, including a child. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were damaged in several communities across the region.
In the Chernihiv region, a 15-year-old boy was injured. Among the damaged facilities are warehouses, a school and private homes.
Russia continues to wage war against civilians. More pressure on the aggressor, stronger sanctions, and more support for Ukraine’s air defence are needed to save lives.

Screened twice this May in Singapore by the Singapore Film Society, the Ukrainian film "2000 METERS TO ANDRIIVKA" has won a News & Documentary Emmy Award for Outstanding Direction.
Created by Ukrainian filmmakers Mstyslav Chernov and Oleksandr Babenko, as well as producers Michelle Mizner and Raney Aronson-Rath, the 2025 documentary follows Ukrainian soldiers fighting to reclaim the village of Andriivka. The film received six nominations in total, including best documentary.

Raw and gut-wrenching, 2000 METERS is a testimony to the brutality of Russia's aggression against Ukraine, and to the courage and resilience of Ukrainian people in their fight for freedom.

З 25 по 31 травня в Україні проходить Національний тиждень безбар’єрності, покликаний привернути увагу суспільства до необхідності створення доступного середовища, рівних можливостей для всіх громадян, розвитку безбар’єрних просторів, сервісів та інформації, а також утвердження культури поваги, гідності та людиноцентричної комунікації. Національний тиждень безбар’єрності відбувається в межах реалізації стратегії створення безбар’єрного простору в Україні та продовжує ініціативу Першої леді України Олена Зеленська “Без бар’єрів”.

Міністерство закордонних справ України підтверджує відданість нашої держави принципам безбар’єрності як невід’ємній складовій демократичного розвитку, європейської інтеграції, захисту прав людини та стійкого відновлення України. Йдеться не лише про фізичну доступність інфраструктури, а й про доступність державних послуг, інформації, освіти, праці, культури, цифрових сервісів, міжнародної взаємодії та повноцінної участі кожної людини в суспільному житті.

В умовах триваючої збройної агресії Російської Федерації ця тематика набула для України особливого значення. Війна створює додаткові бар’єри для мільйонів людей: ветеранів і ветеранок, людей з інвалідністю, людей старшого віку, батьків із дітьми, внутрішньо переміщених осіб, жителів громад, наближених до лінії фронту, осіб, які постраждали від мінної небезпеки, травм, втрати житла чи вимушеного переміщення. Українська дипломатія і надалі привертатиме увагу міжнародних партнерів до цих викликів та необхідності їх системного подолання.

МЗС України виходить із того, що відбудова України має бути не лише швидкою та ефективною, а передусім інклюзивною, доступною та людиноцентричною. Відновлення інфраструктури, державних сервісів, громад, освітніх, медичних, соціальних і культурних просторів має здійснюватися з урахуванням потреб різних груп людей та на основі принципів універсального дизайну, рівності можливостей і поваги до людської гідності.

Окреме значення має формування культури коректної, недискримінаційної та безбар’єрної мови. Міністерство закордонних справ України вітає затвердження стандарту державної мови “Термінологія безбар’єрності” – першого в Україні стандарту такого типу, який уніфікує недискримінаційну лексику та визначає перелік слів і висловів, що мають бути виведені з офіційного вжитку. Стандарт охоплює понад сотню термінів, що стосуються прав і можливостей людей з інвалідністю, ветеранів і ветеранок, батьків із дітьми та інших груп, які стикаються з упередженнями. Мова держави має бути мовою поваги.

Міністерство закордонних справ України послідовно інтегрує принципи доступності та інклюзивності у свою інституційну політику, консульську діяльність і міжнародну взаємодію. Для дипломатичної служби це означає доступність державних сервісів для громадян України за кордоном, розвиток цифрових і дистанційних форматів взаємодії, підвищення доступності закордонних дипломатичних установ, а також впровадження коректної комунікації у щоденній роботі української дипломатії.

Україна вдячна міжнародним партнерам, іноземним урядам, міжнародним організаціям, донорам, експертам і представникам громадянського суспільства, які підтримують нашу державу у розбудові доступного, інклюзивного та людиноцентричного простору. Така підтримка є особливо важливою в умовах, коли значна частина ресурсів України спрямована на захист держави від російської агресії.

МЗС України закликає міжнародних партнерів і надалі пріоритизувати безбар’єрність у програмах підтримки України, зокрема у сферах відновлення інфраструктури, реабілітації, соціальної згуртованості, цифрової доступності, освіти, охорони здоров’я, культури, транспорту, житла та державних сервісів. Безбар’єрна відбудова є не лише питанням комфорту чи технічних стандартів. Це питання прав людини, демократичної стійкості та справедливого майбутнього України.

У Національний тиждень безбар’єрності Україна підтверджує: сильна європейська держава – це держава, у якій кожна людина може реалізовувати свої права, отримувати послуги та інформацію, працювати, навчатися, подорожувати, брати участь у суспільному житті та бути почутою без перешкод, упереджень і дискримінації.

Безбар’єрність – це коли людина може. Саме таку Україну ми будуємо – доступну, гідну, інклюзивну та європейську.
