The College joins SG Courts to offer our heartiest congratulations to Deputy Chair of our Board of Governors, Justice See Kee Oon, on his appointment as Judge of the Appellate Division, and our Governor, Judicial Commissioner Yihan Goh, on his appointment as Judge of the High Court of Singapore.

The College was honoured to host President of the Judicial Research and Training Institute (JRTI) of the Supreme Court of Korea, Kim Yongbin, and Professors Nam Junwoo and Ja Young Kim from the JRTI International Judicial Cooperation Center, who called on the College on 17 May 2023.
The delegation met Justice Kwek Mean Luck, Chair of the College's Board of Governors, Presiding Judge of the State Courts Justice Vincent Hoong who is the College's governor, as well as Executive Director and Acting Dean, Judge Paul Quan.

At the Opening of the Legal Year 2023, the Honourable Chief Justice announced that former Judicial Commissioner and Dean of the Singapore Judicial College, Foo Chee Hock SC, will be retiring in April after more than 30 years of distinguished public service in the Judiciary. On his retirement, we pay tribute to our Dean, to whom the College owes a tremendous debt, for painstakingly laying the foundation so that the College can be on its way.

The College joins SG Courts in sharing the news of the extension of our College Governor, Justice Vincent Hoong, as Presiding Judge of the State Courts for a further period from 1 Apr 2023 to 11 Apr 2025. We congratulate His Honour on his re-appointment and continue to look to him for guidance as Governor.
We are pleased to share that the President has extended the appointment of Justice Vincent Hoong Seng Lei as Presiding Judge of the State Courts till 11 Apr 2025.
Justice Hoong oversaw a wide range of initiatives under his tenure which have served to enhance access to justice in different ways. These include the operationalisation of the specialist Protection from Harassment Court, educating the public on the criminal processes through publication of the Guidebook for Accused-in-Person in vernacular languages, as well as revamping the civil litigation processes (attendant upon the coming into force of the Rules of Court 2021).
