Reverse engineering is part art, part science. And often very manual.
Meet AETHER, CSIT’s AI-powered engine built to help engineers interpret complex binaries faster, reduce cognitive load, and focus on what really matters: understanding intent.
AI won’t replace reverse engineers. But used right, it can amplify them.
Get close up with the AETHER showcase at DEF CON Singapore 2026, happening from 28 to 30 April at the Marina Bay Sands. We will see you there!

As announced by Senior Minister of State for Digital Development and Information Tan Kiat How, critical information infrastructure (CII) owners will be equipped "with proprietary threat detection systems to strengthen their abilities to detect malicious activities in their networks".
CSIT is working with Cyber Security Agency of Singapore - CSA to provide our proprietary threat detection tools to CII owners, helping to strengthen their defences and better respond to incidents. This will collectively build a stronger digital defence across Singapore's digital infrastructure.

AI is only as good as the data behind it.
We explored how agentic AI workflows can automate data quality checks — from rule generation to validation — with minimal human intervention.
Less manual effort. More trust in data.

“Being a little bit curious and humble has worked out well for me — and I hope that’s a winning solution for the current generation.”
We had the privilege of hosting Jeff Moss, founder of Black Hat and DEF CON (), at CSIT on 24 February.
It was an insightful and energising exchange as Jeff shared candid reflections on the experiences that shaped his journey, and offered a deeper look into the ethos behind DEF CON — a global cybersecurity community grounded in learning, exploration, and the spirit of pushing boundaries while having fun.
During the dialogue, CSIT engineers engaged him on navigating uncertainty, remaining adaptable, and sustaining a growth mindset in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
His reflections were a timely reminder that meaningful growth is not driven by formal training alone, but by curiosity, humility, and the willingness to continuously evolve.

Le-Yi didn’t leap into tech overnight. She followed her curiosity, one line of code at a time.
Drawn to the instant feedback of software, she gradually pivoted into cloud platform engineering, now working on on-premise and air-gapped systems at CSIT.
Today, she designs infrastructure that keeps things running quietly and reliably behind the scenes.
Swipe to see how fast feedback loops and a growth mindset shaped her journey. ♟💻

No alerts. No payloads.
Just unfamiliar binaries behaving differently enough to raise suspicion.
Your task: Pull the program apart, follow the hidden routines, and identify the callback sequence before the trail goes cold.
Can you trace it in time?

CSIT’s Digital Defence Hub (DDH) was recognised for contributions to Operation CYBER GUARDIAN, a multi-agency response to the UNC3886 attack against Singapore’s telecommunications sector.
As part of our work, our technical insights informed and shaped the multi-agency technical approach to the hunting and investigation of threat activities. We were also able to generate insights drawn from deep threat actor research to advance investigations and strengthen detection across the affected networks.
The collective and complementary strengths of all agencies were central to the effectiveness of the response, and we will continue working together to strengthen Singapore’s digital defence.
