📚 We kicked off our first Unbroken Circles Book Club session last weekend.
We started with a question: what does inequality really look like? And we left with something harder —
what we choose to do about it.
No easy answers there, but we’re not giving up.

🚪 House Visit Training Day
"What do we do if residents invite you into their homes?"
This was one of the questions posted by Amir to the participants.
The day began with a sharing session by Amir, who spoke about the heart behind house visits, listening with empathy, showing up with sincerity, and understanding the everyday concerns of residents.
In the afternoon, our Young Democrats headed out into Marsiling–Yew Tee GRC to put that into practice, not just to speak, but to listen.
We were grateful for the encouragement from SDP Chairman, Dr Paul Tambyah and CEC Member, Irene, who came by to support the team. ❤️
Most of all, thank you to the residents who opened your doors to us. Your stories, perspectives, and patience (especially with our YDs who are still learning) mean more than you know. 🙏
Community is built conversation by conversation.
And we’re thankful to be part of that journey. ✊

Starting 2026 with purpose. ✊🎬
The Young Democrats kicked off the year at Carnival Cinema with a screening of Al Awda, a powerful 70-minute documentary following activists who sailed to break the Gaza blockade, and the consequences faced by non-violent movements under suppression. ⛴️
Big thank you to SDP Chairman, , for bringing us along, and a big shout out to the director, , for the timely reminder that peaceful expression on political and humanitarian issues must always be defended. 🕊️
P.S. To the YDs who were keen but couldn’t join us due to the screening being rated R21. 🈲
We appreciate the interest and hope to see you at the next one!

🎳 Strike, spares & solid vibes.
Over the weekend, we had good company, friendly competition, and lots of laughs at the YD meet-up at Superbowl Jurong
More moments like this, more organising ahead.
Until next time! Happy holidays!

On 23 August, about 340 Singaporeans gathered in the heart of Singapore at SDP’s forum “Where Do We Draw the Line? Reimagining Singapore’s Electoral System”. Panelists included NUS Asst. Prof Dr Elvin Ong, former MP Leon Perera, theoretical physicist Jo Teo and GE2025 independent candidate Jeremy Tan - who came together to discuss reforms such as an independent Elections Department, fairer campaigning rules and stronger civic participation.
RICE Media captured the essence of the conversation with a thoughtful commentary on the topic at hand. Read the full article below 👇
Let’s keep the conversation going. Join us to help build a stronger, more inclusive democracy.
