Story of Banana Company- Socially responsible for upliftment of the less privileged and work towards Sustainability.
The Banana Company was founded by Ms Nengneithem Hengna & Neenu Maben in 2020 as a community based agroforestry project that deals in plantation and cultivation of banana to derive products, by-products and allied products from banana. Their first unit was set up in Village Inbung, District Peren, Nagaland. As their Corporate Social Responsibility, this division conducts mass training of unskilled individuals in making crafts from banana fibre where they source the banana fibre themselves. They also provide training in allied machinery operations to skilled individuals as well. Their mission is to create an environment of self sustained employment by helping aspirants to create Self Help Groups. They are currently working with two Self Help Groups and assist them by helping them secure bigger orders. They believe in Upliftment of the less privileged and making those groups self sustainable too. Banana fibre is an eco-friendly substance and a durable one too. It’s getting its due attention in today’s times as a sustainable option.
You can also support the cause by supporting them and and in turn empower the community involved in production of banana fibre products.

Is Bamboo just a lucky plant or a Sustainable choice?
We have been using tissue paper / toilet paper etc forever. But have we ever wondered our priceless bodies are exposed to certain chemicals in our everyday life?
Are you aware that nearly all paper products including recycled paper contain BPA and BPS which is easily absorbed by the skin. So wiping with any kind of paper is definitely not a safe idea.
Bamboo starts to regrow as soon as it is cut down, making it one of the most sustainable natural products on earth.
Less water is wasted in the cultivation of bamboo than standard paper.
Bamboo is biodegradable, returning to the soil and improving it without impact on global warming, keeping it out of methane producing landfills.
Are we ready to switch from paper to bamboo products? Is it worth making a simple change and making an impact? Remember Sustainability is no more a choice, it's a moral obligation!
Let's think and do our bit!

Welcome to my sustainable lifestyle online store UNPLASTIK!
Did you know an average person throws away approximately 84kg of plastic per year. That could take 1000 years to decompose. Now think about how many plastic bags are floating on this planet?
A lot of plastic usage is also because of the lack of sustainable alternatives to plastic. Even when we want to make a difference, we don’t know what to do. I got this idea from my own kitchen & life. And hence, UNPLASTIK was born with the mission to encourage everyone to make conscious decisions for themselves and to protect our planet for future generations to come. We created UNPLASTIK’s Multipurpose Reusable storage bags for your Kitchen and Beyond! Made from 100% pure platinum food-grade silicone, UNPLASTIK storage bags are non-toxic, odourless, strong and durable. Free from harmful chemicals, glues and adhesives. They are durable & reusable. Did you know 1 UNPLASTIK storage bag can replace up to 3000 single-use plastics?
It is our mission to play a part in eliminating the use of single use plastics. We are doing our bit, are you doing yours?
Few small steps into a sustainable world will make the leap into a better planet.

This is a story about Linukinla - Connecting Heritage to Contemporary
She started her initiative in 2015. In her words “Inla's Genesis to me is "freedom" - Like the meaning of Genesis, the beginning or origin, I wanted to explore the possibilities of creating new things.”
For almost 10 plus years she was pursuing her corporate aspirations but by 2014 things changed and she stood at the crossroads of life - where she had to choose between the corporate world with a well paying & secured job Or become an artisan with no professional training and dimmer financial security.. 7 years later she turned her hobby into a career. An inspirational story to follow your dreams..
She says “My designs don't follow a set pattern or trend, but I can proudly say that my designs are bold, unique, simple and sometimes it's crazy”. I take inspiration from traditional and also modern art to make my own unique statements and keep the tradition alive in their own unique way. Maintaining age-old traditions makes me proud. It gives me an opportunity to make modern creations for the contemporary world with a reminder and tribute to tradition too.
Finding happiness even in the smallest of things inspires me to do what I do everyday.
