✨ Wrapping up Semester 1 with an unforgettable STAR 2 experience! ✨

From 20 to 28 May, our North Stars wrapped up the semester with a vibrant and enriching STAR 2 programme! Across all levels, students stepped out of the traditional classroom to engage in meaningful experiences designed to build self-awareness, strengthen resilience, deepen connections, and inspire future aspirations. 🌟

Here is a look back at the incredible highlights that brought our school community together in celebration of leadership, perseverance, and belonging:
- Holistic Growth & Exploration: Students took part in thrilling Outdoor Adventure Learning 🧗‍♂️, eye-opening learning journeys 🚌, hands-on Applied Learning Modules (ApLMs) 🛠️, and bonded during Class Outings, sparking joy and personal growth.

- Student Leaders Investiture: A proud moment for CVSS as we officially recognised and celebrated our new student leaders, ready to step up and serve with passion. 💼

- Annual Race at Gardens by the Bay: Resilience and team spirit were on full display as students conquered the scenic route together, pushing boundaries and cheering each other on! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

- Brunch with Form Teachers: A heartwarming finale where students and teachers bonded over good food, shared laughter, and meaningful reflections. 🥞☕️

STAR 2 has truly empowered our North Stars to reflect on their journey, grow in character, and look ahead to Semester 2 with confidence. Thank you to all teachers and students for making this experience memorable! 💙🦅

Fitness Challenge 2: the Illinois Agility Run Challenge 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ concluded with our winners receiving their medals 🏅 during morning assembly.

The participants were very sporting 💪, and even though most of them had not tried this run test before, they persisted in completing the runs despite some mistakes in their first/second attempts (which were not counted). 👏

This challenge gives them an idea of their fitness-related skills, which includes: their ability to accelerate and decelerate in a short time ⚡, body control during fast movement, and power for short-distance sprints in their legs.

Fitness Challenge 3 is happening next term! 🔥 Stay tuned for the challenge and sign-up details! 📢

The 2026 Secondary 1 Outdoor Adventure Learning (OAL) Camp was a meaningful 3-day, 2-night experience that encouraged North Stars to step out of their comfort zones and build resilience.

Through activities such as dragon boating, bouldering, and team building, students developed perseverance, teamwork, and courage while strengthening bonds with their teachers and peers.

Students also gained a deeper appreciation of nature through geographical investigations at Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve, where they explored mangrove ecosystems firsthand.

Overall, the camp provided valuable opportunities for character development, leadership, and experiential learning beyond the classroom.

More than just enjoying treats together, the carnival was also a chance for students to connect, look out for one another, and strengthen the caring and inclusive culture we want to build in our school. Through events like these, we hope to continue encouraging peer support, friendship, and an upstanding community where everyone feels welcomed and valued. ✨

✨It was a memorable celebration at CVSS Annual Awards Day 2026 where we recognised the achievements of our students across academic subjects, character and leadership.

This year, the theme ‘Illuminating New Horizons’ reflects the hope that our North Stars will carry their realised potential into purposeful action in and beyond school, towards new horizons and new possibilities.

From heartfelt speeches and memorable on-stage interactions, to riveting performances by our Dance and Wind Symphony students, the ceremony was a reflection on journeys of growth, resilience, and excellence, a meaningful reminder of how far our students have come.

Here’s to our North Stars as they continue to shine beyond these halls and illuminate new horizons. 🌟

A group of our S2 students stepped out of the classroom and into the theatre last week for an incredible double bill of “Don’t Know, Don’t Care and Perfecting Pratas”! By watching a professional staging of their Literature text, “Don’t Know, Don’t Care” by Haresh Sharma, students saw the script’s nuances come to life. In their reflections, students noted that “it turned what we read in class into real life, giving us the opportunity to actually feel what is happening.” This immersive experience successfully deepened their engagement with the play and fostered a richer understanding of the themes they’ve been exploring in class this Semester!

Sec 3 OBS
True character isn’t tested when things go right—it’s tested when plans change. 💪
This year’s 5D4N OBS trip for our Sec 3s came with a wild reminder of who’s boss (hint: it was the 🐊!). With water activities cancelled for safety, our students stepped up to the challenge on land with grit and a positive spirit.
Seeing our North Stars adapt, support one another, and find joy in the unexpected is what is all about. 🌟

29 April 2026 - Our school assembly just got a cinematic upgrade. We were thrilled to host the Singapore Film Society (SFS) for a special Earth Day assembly programme that looked at environmentalism through a different lens! 🎞️🌱

The SFS team showed us that film is more than just entertainment—it’s a powerful tool to witness the beauty of our world and the urgent need to protect it. From sweeping landscapes to the smallest details of our local biodiversity, the stories we watch can inspire the change we need to see.
