PUB has clinched the Public Service Science, Technology and Engineering (STE) Excellence Award for the Tekong Polder project. 🏆

The Tekong Polder, Singapore's first polder and first land reclamation project below mean sea level, was made possible through close collaboration between PUB and HDB. Its 10km coastal d**e and comprehensive drainage system work together as an integrated water management system, building Singapore's resilience against the twin challenges of rising seas and heavier rainfall brought on by climate change.

We have clinched the Public Service Science, Technology and Engineering (STE) Excellence Award for our Deep Tunnel Sewerage System (DTSS) connection project! 🏆

The DTSS is a crucial component of Singapore's used water management and must be kept operational at all times. When the needs of the Thomson-East Coast Line and the Long Island project called for a direct connection to a live DTSS tunnel, our team took on the challenge with no comparable global precedents available as reference. The result is a set of innovative solutions that not only delivered the works safely, but laid replicable blueprints for future connection works.

🏆 PUB has clinched two awards at this year's Public Service Science, Technology and Engineering (STE) Festival (STE:Fest)!

The STE Excellence Award recognises outstanding Public Service STE projects that have delivered impactful outcomes for citizens and communities through innovative approaches and solutions. We are proud to share that two of our projects stood out among 13 nominated this year.

🔧 Building New Connections into the Deep Tunnel Sewerage System (Water Reclamation Network Department)
The Deep Tunnel Sewerage System (DTSS) is a crucial component of Singapore's used water management system and must be kept operational at all times. To support the diversion of trunk sewers for the Thomson-East Coast Line and facilitate future sewer connection for developments under the Long Island project, PUB undertook the construction of a direct connection into an operational DTSS tunnel. With no comparable global precedents available as reference, the team devised innovative solutions to safely execute the works, establishing replicable blueprints for future connection projects.

🌊 Tekong Polder Project (Catchment and Waterways Department)
The Tekong Polder, Singapore's first polder and first land reclamation project below mean sea level, was made possible through close collaboration between PUB and HDB. It features a 10km coastal d**e and comprehensive drainage system, strengthening Singapore's defences against rising seas and heavier rainfall.

These wins are a testament to the dedication and ingenuity of our teams, and our continued commitment to engineering excellence in service of Singapore.
