Success with AI won’t be defined by dazzling demos. It will be about how meaningfully, securely, and responsibly AI is deployed and scaled in the real world.

This was the central message from our Chief Executive, Chan Tsan, in his keynote address to the international audience at Mistral AI’s inaugural AI Now Summit in Paris.

It reflects how HTX’s AI strategy is grounded in securely deploying AI at scale for public safety, as articulated in the 3 core principles of our Movement, which our CE shared at the summit:
1. AI sovereignty spanning infrastructure, models, and applications to support sensitive operational workloads
2. Trust and practical AI governance so that regulation and deployment go hand in hand
3. Deep integration between tech and operations, because the operational frontline is where AI matters most

These principles are more than a statement of intent. They already inform what we’ve built.

Can fingerprints reveal more than just identity? 👀 Indeed.

In fact, they can provide clues to one’s biological s*x.

And that’s especially useful for crime scene investigators who are on a mission to identify
suspects from prints found at crime scenes.

HTX’s latest eXpresso! served up plenty of emotions and a special farewell appearance by Permanent Secretary (PS) for the Ministry of Home Affairs, Pang Kin Keong. He joined us before retiring from an incredible 35-year career in the public service, during which he played a seminal role in HTX’s growth! 👏🏆

The session was part celebration, part nostalgia. As PS Pang closes this chapter, HTX will continue the momentum, ready for the next goal.

PS: No prizes for guessing what PS’ favourite football team is 😉

Ever heard of award-winning cockroaches? We have.

Yesterday, as part of three OpenGov Asia Recognition of Excellence Awards, our cyborg cockroaches, which were developed in collaboration with Nanyang Technological University and Klass Engineering and Solutions, were celebrated with an award for being a technologically-enabled innovation.

Our ICA Integrated Processing System (IPS) e‑Services and QR Code Clearance (Land Checkpoints) projects were also conferred two OpenGov Asia Recognition of Excellence Awards, with HTX’s Immigration & Checkpoints and Digital Services programme management centres (ICPMC & DSPMC) jointly winning with ICA.

Talk about having a week of recognition – on Tuesday, HTX also won an award at the Public Service Science, Technology and Engineering Festival (STE:Fest), and was a partner in another STE:Fest win!

Work hard. Play hard. This is how we roll. 😎

Over 200 Xponents came together yesterday morning for the HTX Annual Cycle 2026 Flag-Off Ride at Marina Barrage, joined by Mr Edwin Tong, Minister for Law and Second Minister for Home Affairs.

This also marks the start of our 10-day Virtual Cycling Challenge, where Xponents can hit the road and put the pedal to the metal for their teams. Every kilometre counts! 🚴💨

Did you know that HTX helped bring about that seamless, passport-less immigration clearance we enjoy at our world famous Changi Airport?

Today, this tech and two others related to the same project won the STE Excellence Award at the Public Service Science, Technology and Engineering Festival (STE:Fest) 2026!

Jointly developed by HTX’s Immigration & Checkpoints Programme Management Centre and Biometrics & Profiling Centre of Expertise teams in collaboration with the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA), the project makes border clearance smarter and smoother.

Think our immigration clearance can’t get any more seamless? Well, you’re wrong. Watch this space! 🙌

Where every second counts: How HTX helped bring SG Alert to life 11/05/2026

In an emergency, every second counts. That’s why Singapore’s new SG Alert mass warning system is designed to deliver critical alerts quickly and reliably.

Behind the scenes, HTX engineers worked closely with the Singapore Civil Defence Force, Apple, Google and Singtel to test, refine and implement the nationwide alert system powered by cell broadcast technology.

Read on to discover how the technology works, and what went into ensuring the system runs without a hitch to save lives.
