We asked four mums in STB how they spent Mother's Day and it looked a little different for everyone:
🎨 A craft workshop with the kids (and a very funny handwritten note to remember it by)
🏙️ A weekend spent playing tourist in our own city, with three generations along for the ride
🐰 A quiet Sunday shared with the kids… and the bunnies
🌷 A cosy day at home with tulips and a cake full of candles
While everyone had different ways of celebrating/being celebrated, one shared thread remained – making time for the moments that matter.

📈 Singapore’s tourism sector demonstrated steady growth in 2025 with the highest-ever tourism receipts recorded at S$32.8 billion - reflecting the collective efforts of the sector.
Amid ongoing global uncertainties, Tourism Industry Conference 2026 saw Minister for Sustainability and the Environment and Minister in charge of Trade Relations Grace Fu, together with STB Chief Executive Melissa Ow share how the tourism sector is being positioned to navigate a more complex operating environment:
🎯 STB will continue supporting the industry across with a S$740 million tranche of the Tourism Development Fund to help businesses adapt, innovate and unlock new growth opportunities.
🌏Locals and visitors can expect a continued pipeline of refreshed attractions, precinct rejuvenation, major leisure events, across wellness, cruise and MICE - strengthening the range and depth of experiences Singapore offers.
🚀 Initiatives such as an AI playbook for tourism, refreshed schemes, and streamlined regulatory processes are aimed at helping businesses improve productivity, manage costs and respond more quickly to change.
🖥️ Beyond the conference sessions, we offered a closer look at what’s coming - from progress under the Orchard Road Rejuvenation Project, to the Greater Sentosa Master Plan, alongside robotics and AI solutions designed to support productivity, labour planning and back of house operations for tourism businesses.
Together, the discussions at TIC 2026 underscored the importance of partnership in the period ahead. For local businesses and workers, this means continued, practical support to adapt, build capabilities and invest with greater confidence.
STB remains committed to partnering closely with the industry through targeted support, sustained investments and collaboration - to strengthen resilience, enable innovation and ensure Singapore remains a trusted and competitive global destination.

At the recent STB Heartbeat townhall session, we paused to shine a light on The Work You Don’t See – the quiet, behind the scenes efforts that keep STB moving every day.
Here’s a snapshot of what we unpacked:
✈️ On 8 Mar, a special flight, SQ8002, was arranged to Muscat, Oman for foreign visitors stranded in Singapore due to Middle East airspace closures. A cross-functional STB taskforce sprang into action to arrange this, and team members shared what it was like to move at speed, across roles and seniority, to support visitors when it mattered most.
🎌 The STB World Expo 2025 team took us into their journey in Osaka, Japan – sharing the milestones, teamwork and friendships forged along the way as they welcomed over 2.1 million visitors to the Singapore Pavilion.
🎨 From launching the We Don’t Wait for Fun campaign for Early Careers travellers, to bringing Singapore Art Week (SAW) to life, our colleagues from Marketing Group shared how collaboration makes the magic happen. Highlights included insider stories of working with celebrities Nick Jonas, Ha Ji Won and Zhuzhu for SAW’s first ever celebrity engagement.
🚢 Our cruise team pulled back the curtain on what it took to bring Disney Adventure to Singapore – from years of planning to close partnership work – and the many unseen efforts that make landmark collaborations possible.
We also took time to recognise our long serving STBians, and fellow colleagues who have been making our workdays brighter in their own ways:
🏅 We celebrated two STBians marking their retirement after decades of dedicated service – Akiko Yoshida, who served 45 years with STB Japan since 1981, and Rajeev Vij, who spent 21 years with STB India, South Asia & Africa (New Delhi). Their journeys reflect the quiet commitment that has long shaped STB.
📞 The Heartbeat telephone booth became a space for STBians to share quick thank yous and heartfelt shoutouts, celebrating colleagues who made a difference.
From moments that required calm coordination under pressure, to months of teamwork that never make the spotlight, Heartbeat was a reminder that progress is powered not just by big ideas, but by the collective dedication, camaraderie and commitment of our people.
