🎬The 35th edition of the European Film Festival in Singapore

It was a pleasure to be part of this year’s European Film Festival (EUFF), which for 35 years has served as a vibrant platform for cultural exchange, bringing European cinema to Singapore and strengthening ties between Europe and Singapore through the power of storytelling. 📽️🍿

This year’s festival also marked an exciting new chapter for Singapore’s film community with the emergence of - continuing the spirit of independent cinema and a testament to the importance of cinema as a shared cultural space. 🤝

As part of EUFF 2026, the Embassy of Denmark was proud to present the Danish film Special Unit: The First Murder. A thrilling Nordic Noir crime mystery, that kept the audience on its toes!

It was wonderful to see such strong audience engagement and to experience how Danish storytelling continues to resonate across cultures. 🇩🇰🎥

A special thank you to the European Union in Singapore , Filmhouse, Film Society, and to Carlsberg for their support and contribution to this year’s festival. Thank you to everyone who helped make the 35th edition of EUFF such a success. 🎬🇪🇺🤝🇸🇬

Happy Constitution Day! 🇩🇰

Today we celebrate the fact that Denmark has been a democracy for 177 years, safeguarding basic rights such as freedom of speech, freedom of assembly and the right to vote.

This year's Constitution Day comes just days after Denmark formed a new government, making it a timely reminder of the importance of democratic institutions and civic participation.

Did you know that the Danish Constitutional Act is one of the oldest in the world? 🌍📜

🎬🇩🇰 Congratulations to the team behind Mr. Nobody Against Putin!

🏆 Danish filmmaking continues to impress on the international stage: mr.nobodyagainstputin has just won the BAFTA for Best Documentary. And the celebration doesn’t stop there! The film is also Oscar-nominated (Best Documentary Feature).

🔎 At its core, the documentary tells the story of a primary school teacher who secretly documents how everyday school life is reshaped by state-driven militarisation and propaganda - and what that means for children, families and the local community.

🙌 A special congratulations to Danish producer hellefaber for made_in_copenhagen, who produced the film in collaboration with Czech production company bypink.cz.

👏 Please join us in congratulating the entire team by liking this post and follow the filmmakers and production companies for updates on the film’s journey.
