Ingrown nails might not look like a big deal at first, but they can cause serious pain and infection — especially when the nail grows into the paw pad. They usually happen when a nail grows into the surrounding skin—common with overgrown or misshaped nails. Sometimes it’s hard to spot especially with long haired fur-friends, until it’s already infected 🥲

💊 Treatment started with a proper nail trim at the vet (not something you want to attempt at home if it’s already painful), followed by regular soaks in diluted iodine to reduce inflammation and prevent infection.

🔑 The key to avoiding this? Regular nail trims and checking your pet’s paws, especially if they’re active or walk on soft surfaces where nails don’t wear down naturally. Or getting scratch poles for cats!
