Our Chief Executive Puah Kok Keong and colleagues from External Relations Department were recently in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong to learn more about the latest developments shaping the region's energy transition.
The visits included stops at BYD's Tech Museum where the team explored developments in battery storage, electric mobility, and hydrogen-powered EV charging stations, as well as nuclear energy's role in a low-carbon future at the Daya Bay Nuclear Power Science and Technology Museum.
As Singapore works towards a cleaner energy future, exchanges like these help us learn from what others are doing and apply those lessons at home.

✨🎉 Cheers to 25 years of keeping the lights on!
Last week, we celebrated EMA's 25th Anniversary with colleagues past and present, industry partners, and friends who have supported us over the years. We were honoured to have Prime Minister Lawrence Wong as our Guest of Honour.
From building a resilient power system to shaping a cleaner energy future, none of this would have been possible without the trust and partnership of everyone who has been part of the journey.
As we look ahead, we remain committed to keeping Singapore powered reliably and securely, while continuing to support our energy transition journey together.⚡
Here’s to , for Singapore and generations to come!

If you have a smart electricity meter, you can monitor your energy consumption, make smarter energy choices, and turn it into real savings!
Here’s how:
1️⃣ Track your usage in real time on the SP app.
2️⃣ Identify which appliances are using the most power.
3️⃣ Adjust your consumption habits and use energy wisely!

When people hear of the word “nuclear”, concerns about safety may naturally come to mind.
Our colleagues David and Zi Hua share how advanced nuclear energy technologies have evolved over the years, making them potentially safer.
Read more about how we are studying these nuclear energy technologies as we continue to explore ways that can help us achieve a reliable net zero power supply.

Saving energy works best when all of us do our part through small and consistent actions. 🙌 Our colleague Ying Quan shares some energy-saving initiatives that workplaces can adopt:
1️⃣ Optimise lighting schedules with motion sensors and controls to reduce unnecessary energy use.
2️⃣Using LED lighting and energy-efficient appliances.
Let’s work together to build more energy-efficient workplaces across Singapore.

24/7 clean power...without depending on the weather? 😮
⚛️ Nuclear power plants generate electricity through a continuous process called fission, where atoms are split to produce heat. This heat is used to create steam that spins turbines, generating electricity around the clock, regardless of weather or time of day.
This makes it a potential source of baseload power - the steady supply that could keep our lights on even at 3am or on a cloudy, rainy day.

Starting in 2027, Singapore will undertake an independent review of its progress in capability building efforts in nuclear science, safety and technology.
Known as the Integrated Nuclear Infrastructure Review (INIR) Phase 1 Mission, this review will help us assess whether our efforts are progressing in the right direction, based on the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Milestones Approach.
⚛️ Participating in this review does not mean Singapore has made any decision to deploy nuclear energy. It is part of our broader efforts to study the suitability of advanced nuclear energy technologies for power generation in Singapore. Any decision will be carefully considered against factors such as safety, reliability, affordability, and environmental sustainability in our unique context.
