The Fledgeling Fund is a short, student-first initiative by SOAR designed to support small, student-initiated projects. Well done to all participants for making impactful contributions! 🥳🥳
HydroCue offers an intelligent, hands-free approach to health. It features a compact device that discreetly sticks to the bottom of any water bottle, where it periodically weighs the bottle to check if the user has taken a sip. By calculating total water intake throughout the day, it sends timely notifications to the user’s phone, ensuring they stay perfectly hydrated without the need for manual logging.

🫧SOAR’s Underwater Unit (UWU) Team 🫧 participated in their first overseas competition — RoboSub 2025! Held from 11 August to 17 August in Irvine, RoboSub is a competition where student teams from around the world design and build robotic submarines, otherwise known as Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV). 🤖 The behaviors demonstrated by these experimental AUVs mimics those of real-world systems, currently deployed around the world for underwater exploration, seafloor mapping, and sonar localization, amongst many others. 🌍 (source: https://robosub.org/about/)

SOAR’s SUTD Competitive Robotics Team (SCRT) was invited to participate in the prestigious 2025 VEX Robotics World Championship at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas in May earlier this year. 🤖
The SCRT team participated in the Vex V5 Robotics Competition High Stakes, where teams are tasked to build two robots to score rings and earn points for the team.🦾
We are proud to have SCRT represent Singapore and SUTD on the international stage! 🇸🇬

On 17 March, SOAR’s Underwater Unit (UWU) team participated in the annual Singapore Autonomous Underwater Vehicle Challenge (SAUVC).
Open to participants from all over the world, the SAUVC competition challenges participant teams to build an AUV which can perform tasks. The tasks involve four widely faced challenges underwater such as AUV navigation, visual identification, acoustic localisation and robotic manipulation.🤖
Led by the Project Lead John-Henry, the team has fought hard and managed to qualify for the finals!🤩
Thank you to Professor Malika and MARVL labs for their continued guidance and support. And congratulations once again to the UWU team for their achievement!🥳
