𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻

A*STAR was honoured to host H.E. President To Lam of Vietnam and his delegation at A*STAR ARTC and A*STAR SIMTech during his State Visit to Singapore, accompanied by Minister for Digital Development and Information Mrs Josephine Teo as Minister-in-Attendance.

The visit showcased Singapore’s advanced manufacturing capabilities, including embodied AI and humanoid robotics at the Humanoid Arena for High-Value Manufacturing (HuMan), as well as smart manufacturing technologies at the Model Factory.

It also marked a significant step in strengthening Singapore-Vietnam innovation ties, with A*STAR ARTC and Becamex IDC signing an MoU to establish the Vietnam Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (VAMRC).

Together, these efforts will help bring research closer to industry, strengthen regional manufacturing capabilities, and accelerate technology adoption across Southeast Asia.

How do we know the measurements we rely on every day are accurate?

From the fuel used in ships to the products we manufacture and the standards that keep us safe, measurement science helps ensure we can trust the numbers behind the systems we depend on.

At A*STAR National Metrology Centre (A*STAR NMC), Dr Fan Yan is helping make that possible. Her work in developing automated calibration systems improves measurement reliability, supporting industries that rely on precision every day.

Beyond research, Dr Fan is also passionate about growing capabilities in the field. As Singapore’s first WSQ-certified adult trainer in metrology, she has helped strengthen training and raise measurement standards across the industry.

Recognised on the SG100 Women in Tech List 2025 and as a recipient of the Exemplary SkillsFuture @ Public Service Award 2024, Dr Fan’s journey shows how science behind the scenes helps build trust, quality and confidence in the world around us.

Congratulations to the SITEM team from A*STAR IHPC on receiving the STE IC Distinguished Award at STE:Fest 2026.

SITEM is Singapore’s first integrated modelling and simulation platform for EV infrastructure planning, helping agencies better coordinate transport demand, charging behaviour and grid planning as Singapore transitions towards electric vehicles.

Through data-driven modelling, SITEM supports more coordinated and informed planning for Singapore’s EV future.

A*STAR has signed a five-year research collaboration with Commonwealth Fusion Systems to help develop technologies for future fusion power plants.

By contributing expertise in advanced materials and manufacturing, A*STAR is supporting efforts to turn fusion energy into a scalable clean energy source.

The partnership also creates opportunities for Singapore to build new capabilities and talent in the growing global fusion sector.

At SEMICON Southeast Asia 2026, A*STAR engaged industry leaders, regional partners, students and jobseekers on how Singapore can support the next phase of semiconductor growth in Southeast Asia.

From advanced packaging and silicon photonics to RF GaN, power electronics and PiezoMEMS, our researchers shared how these capabilities support emerging needs in AI, connectivity, electrification and sensing.

A*STAR IME also engaged Malaysian semiconductor companies interested in tapping Singapore’s R&D infrastructure and engineering expertise to accelerate technology translation.

Beyond technology, conversations at the NextGen Hub highlighted the importance of talent in sustaining long-term growth across the sector.
