Speaker Seah Kian Peng paid a courtesy call on the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President of Socialist Republic of Vietnam His Excellency To Lam earlier today.
Both leaders noted that Vietnam and Singapore enjoy an excellent and longstanding friendship, built on strong political ties, robust economic links and regular exchanges at all levels.
The Parliament of Singapore shares warm and robust ties with the National Assembly of Vietnam. Both legislative bodies also work closely together in international and inter-parliamentary forums, including in the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA).
Following from the visit of the President of National Assembly of Vietnam Tran Thanh Man to Singapore in December 2024, Speaker Seah is expected to visit Vietnam in December later this year to further strengthen inter-parliamentary relations.

Brunei Darussalam's Speaker of Legislative Council, the Honourable Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman Taib, is in Singapore on an Official Visit from 19 to 22 May 2026 at the invitation of Speaker Seah Kian Peng.
Earlier today, Pehin Rahman and his delegation were received at Parliament House by Speaker Seah and Members of Parliament (MPs) Mr Darryl David, Mr Dennis Tan Lip Fong 陈立峰, Ms Hazlina Abdul Halim and Ms Lee Hui Ying 李蕙莹. Both sides reaffirmed the strong and longstanding bilateral ties between Singapore and Brunei Darussalam, and held a candid exchange of views on a wide range of issues including opportunities for closer inter-parliamentary exchanges and cooperation, and the Singapore Parliament's upcoming presidency of AIPA in 2027.
Speaker Seah also hosted an official luncheon in honour of Pehin Rahman.
Pehin Rahman will also be accompanied by Speaker Seah and MP Diana Pang 彭丽燕 on a tour of Wisma Geylang Serai and visits to active ageing and early childhood centres to learn more about community engagement programmes.

The Ambassador of the European Union to Singapore H.E. Artis Bērtulis called on Speaker Seah Kian Peng earlier this morning at Parliament House.
At the meeting, they took stock of the strong and broad-based relations between Europe and our region. Ambassador Bērtulis shared with Speaker Seah his priorities in strengthening ties particularly in the areas of AI, climate change/green initiatives and critical energy.
Speaker shared with the Ambassador that he looked forward to receiving the EU high level delegation for the 15th Inter-Parliamentary meeting to further strengthen dialogue and ties with the European Union which Singapore will be hosting later this year.
During his visit at Parliament House, Amb Bērtulis took the opportunity to see a few artefacts produced by renowned European sculptor Dora Gordine.

This morning Speaker Seah Kian Peng received a courtesy call by His Excellency Abdulaziz Ahmed Al Malki Al Jehani the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Singapore.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on current developments and the importance of strengthening dialogue and communication. Both Mr Speaker and the Qatari Ambassador agreed on the need to step up inter-Parliamentary relations sustaining the momentum of high level engagement between both countries.
During discussions, the Ambassador also shared with Mr Speaker his plans and priorities in strengthening bilateral relations with Singapore especially in the areas of energy, ICT and financial sectors.
