In continuation with the New Year's events from , this week we were joined by Rotaract Club of NUS in doing a session in the west side of Singapore!

We were thrilled to see all the students share their experiences during the session, what accessibility issues they have noted as they tried using the wheelchairs and traveling around residential spaces in Singapore. From realising that not all overhead bridges have ramps/lifts for access to the narrowness of pathways when a wheelchair user tries to access it, it was heartening to hear that the students share their key takeaways from the session and see that they are increasing their awareness on this!

Special thanks to the EXCO of NUS Rotaract for helping to organise this event! The efforts put in by everyone helps to make a more accessible Singapore!

Happy New year from the community! As part of New year's, SmartBFA teamed up with SUTD's Rotaract students for a special session to map out areas in the East!

We were heartened to see the enthusiasm and level of proactiveness that the students had in trying to understand the perspective of a wheelchair user and for trying to cover as much space as possible! Thanks for sharing the insights that you guys had with us about accessibility.

Special thanks to the EXCO of SUTD Rotaract for helping to organise this event! The data that everyone has collected will help us create a more accessible Singapore for all!

Thank you to Ang Mo Kio Town Council and A. Samdin for this amazing opportunity and for co-organising last week's special session with SmartBFA! We managed work with 5 Residential Network Committees- Cherry, Acacia, Palm, Raintree and Diamond- to collect data in their areas!

We also met fellow residents living there who use wheelchairs, and they were happy to point out more information about the space, what to look out for, and how they navigate their neighbourhood in the everyday basis. It was great to see everyone try to come together for this!

We can see that these Residential Networks have a lot of facilities that aid in transport for wheelchair users around and across the neighbourhood, such as coloured markings for easy identification of kerbs, which allow the residents there to feel more comfortable in travelling about!

Last but not least, to all the RN committee members and volunteers, a special thanks for joining us for the event!

Thank you to our volunteers for coming down to our Accessible Food Tour @ Geylang last week! It was great to have everyone join us for this unique event that co-organised in collaboration with Geylang Adventures!

SmartBFA learnt a lot about the culture and history of Geylang, and what makes it unique! It was also heartening to see the volunteers being enthusiastic in wanting to understand and learn more about the space.

We also got to try out the food in Geylang that were accessible for wheelchairs users, from both The Skewer Bar and JB Ah Meng Restaurant. The food was amazing and the staff were very friendly! It was a great time to also get to know one another better and have a deeper understanding of accessibility.

Hope to see everyone in events like this in the future as well! Stay tuned for more!
