We had our Food Rescue distribution on Saturday at Blk 635C Senja Gateway. We had a good turnout of residents who supported us in reducing food wastage by bringing back the rescued food.

Student leaders from both West Spring Secondary School and Zhenghua Secondary School worked together to address key issues in the Zhenghua Town Municipality, through our Blank Space event.

ZHYN, together with social enterprise Air Amber, began the journey for Blank Space on 30th May and 1st June through workshop 1 and 2 respectively with students. They got to brainstorm and develop their ideas better through these workshops. They refined their project and crafted their pitch which was to be delivered to a panel.

These students pitched their ideas on 10th June, from 9am to 12pm at Zhenghua CC MPH. The panel had senior Grassroots Leaders, together with our adviser, Mr Edward Chia, who gave their words of affirmation and comments to the students after their pitch.

We hope to work together with these students into implementing their ideas for a better Zhenghua community.

ZHYN had its recent Clean Up Zhenghua (CUZ) session yesterday, around the blocks of Jelapang. Students from different levels participated in our mass litter picking event, with facilitators from both ZHYN and Greenridge RC. We managed to reduce and properly discard litter, that was spotted around the blocks.

Moreover, we had a short discussion about the insights the students had gained from the event where they shared some possible methods to reduce such litter found in our neighbourhoods.

We would like to thank Greenridge RC for collaborating with us for the event. Do follow our page as there will be another CUZ session upcoming in September.

We had our last YN monthly meeting for the 2nd term on Sunday. We had lunch together, catching up with one another and reminiscing about the events from the past term.

During the meeting, we discussed about the recent events and initiatives, looking at potential ways to improve and continue them moving forward.
