包粽子体验

在我们最可爱而热情满满的家长会的带领下，中一同学们亲手体验了传统包粽子的乐趣。从折粽叶、填入糯米与馅料，到包裹塑形、绑线定型，每一个步骤都充满挑战与成就感。家长们在活动前细心的准备与练习，只为让同学们拥有最真实、最有温度的文化体验。大家包进去的，不只是粽子，更是一份传承与关怀 。

中国茶艺体验课

一盏茶，一份静。
同学们在茶香之中学习中国茶文化，了解茶具、泡茶礼仪与品茗之道，也在过程中慢下脚步，感受中华文化中的沉静与雅致。这不仅是一堂茶艺课，更是一场让人身心沉淀的文化之旅。

粽子香囊DIY

领到香囊材料包后，同学们在课室里聚精会神地看着学姐录制的DIY教程，一边小心翼翼地制作粽子香囊。同学们通过这种好玩的方式，“包”出了一个个特别的“粽子”，也为今天的文化营活动留下了最棒的纪念！

感谢所有家长、老师与伙伴们的用心付出，让这场文化营圆满成功！愿同学们在南洋继续感受文化之美，传承温暖与情怀。最后偷偷说一句, 校长今年好像也玩得特别开心喔。

Dumpling Wrapping Experience
With the guidance of our most enthusiastic and lovable parent support group, our Sec 1 students got hands-on with the traditional art of dumpling wrapping. From folding bamboo leaves and filling them with rice and ingredients, to shaping and tying each dumpling, every step was both challenging and rewarding.

Our parents put in so much heart and preparation behind the scenes to create an authentic cultural experience for the girls. Wrapped within every dumpling was not just delicious food, but also warmth, care, and tradition.

Chinese Tea Appreciation Session
One cup of tea, one moment of calm.

Students explored the beauty of Chinese tea culture through learning about tea wares, brewing etiquette, and the art of appreciating tea. Beyond simply tasting tea, they also experienced the mindfulness, elegance, and quiet reflection deeply rooted in Chinese culture. It was more than just a workshop — it was a meaningful cultural journey.

Dumpling Craftwork DIY
After receiving their dumpling sachet craft kits, students in the classrooms watched the DIY tutorial made by their senior with rapt attention, working on their craftwork with great care. This fun activity allowed students to "wrap" their very own special "zongzi", creating the perfect memento for today's culture camp!

A huge thank you to all parents, teachers, and partners whose dedication and support made this Cultural Day Camp such a memorable success. May our students continue to embrace culture, heritage, and community spirit here at NYGH.

Last Friday, we celebrated our Annual Prize Giving Ceremony. It is a meaningful occasion dedicated to acknowledging and recognising the hard work, dedication, and achievements of our students across many different arenas. From academic excellence to accomplishments in sports, leadership, service, the arts, and beyond, we are proud of every student who has pursued their passions and given their best.

To all award recipients, congratulations on this well-deserved recognition. Your perseverance, commitment, and growth have inspired those around you and contributed greatly to our school community.

It was also especially heartening to welcome back our alumni, whose continued achievements remind us that the spirit and values cultivated in school continue far beyond graduation. Seeing them return to receive awards was a proud and meaningful moment for all of us.

May this celebration encourage every Nanyang girl to continue striving, growing, and making a positive impact in their own unique way. Once again, congratulations to all our award recipients!

Last week, we witnessed an unforgettable celebration of heritage, artistry, and movement through In Motion《南洋动律：为她序章》. Through the interplay of light and shadow, tradition and contemporary expression, the production brought to life a powerful story of legacy, renewal, and the enduring spirit of generations past and present.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who attended, supported, and journeyed with us through this meaningful production. Your presence and encouragement made this performance truly special as we look ahead towards our school’s 110th anniversary celebrations in 2027.

Thank you to all performers, crew members, teachers, partners, and supporters who made this production possible. May we continue to carry our shared heritage forward, in motion, and into a new dawn.

Nanyang Chinese Dance is thrilled to present a captivating lineup of pieces across a diverse range of Chinese dance styles at In Motion 《南洋动律：为她序章》on 12 May at the University Culture Centre.

Watch our dancers embody a variety of roles — birds flying through the skies, flowers blooming in the spring, and villagers living in harmony with their land — bringing to life vivid characters and stories that draw you into the imaginative worlds created through movement.

Their multi-disciplinary collaboration with Modern Dance and Theatre has given the Chinese Dancers the opportunity to explore new expressions of their art, while preserving its inherent richness. Through rigorous trainings and a shared passion for the art form, their performances are as technically refined as they are emotionally engaging.

今天让我们紧随南洋中国舞团来到大学文化中心，一起走进《动律：为她序章》，感受一场充满情感与脑力的舞蹈表演。

《声动南洋：百十回响》

What a night. It was more than just a concert, it was a beautiful coming together of generations, voices and stories. Seeing all our performing groups share one stage in unity was truly a sight to behold. From orchestras to choir, band to guzheng, every performance carried the spirit of Nanyang in its own unique way.

Beyond the music itself, what made the night so special were the meaningful collaborations formed between the different performing groups. Students, alumni and our friends from Nanyang Primary came together to create something far bigger than any single performance.

For many of our performers, this was a defining moment. Months of rehearsals, hard work and dedication culminated in a night that we will remember for a very long time.

And to everyone who filled the hall with your cheers, applause and support — thank you for being there to share this joyous moment with us.

《声动南洋：百十回响》不仅仅是一场音乐会，更是一场跨越世代、凝聚声音与情感的盛大相聚。看见所有表演团体齐聚一堂、同台演出，那一刻真的令人动容。从华乐、古筝、弦乐到合唱与管乐，每一个节目都以自己的方式，诉说着属于南洋的精神与故事。

Nanyang Modern Dance is excited to perform a diverse range of dance styles and genres at In Motion 《南洋动律：为她序章》on 12 May at the University Culture Centre.

As part of the production’s storyline, our dancers seek to convey raw emotions through movement. They have worked tirelessly to refine both their technique and expression, bringing each piece to life. Through original choreography, they also seek to showcase their identity and voice as dancers. Under the guidance of our instructors, Modern Dance hopes to shine on stage and share their passion and love for dance with the Nanyang community and beyond.

5月12日，南洋现代舞团将在大学文化中心带来《南洋动律：为她序章》。这一次，舞者们将用不同风格的舞蹈，讲述属于他们的故事，也把一路走来的情感与成长呈现在舞台上。

每一段动作、每一次排练，都承载着他们对舞蹈的热爱。为了把最真实的情感传递给观众，舞者们不断挑战自己、磨练技巧，也在原创编舞中慢慢找到属于自己的风格与声音。在导师的陪伴与指导下，现代舞团希望透过这场演出，与大家分享他们对舞蹈最纯粹的热情，也期待在舞台上留下一个难忘的夜晚。
