💬 Parents and youths, join us in shaping a safer online space! 👨👩👧
The digital world opens up opportunities to learn and connect, but also brings with it risks of harmful content and online interactions. That's why we're working closely with partners to strengthen protections for children online. 🛡️
We recently hosted a roundtable discussion on how we can build child-safe digital environments with community partners TOUCH Cyber Wellness, Fei Yue, Singapore Children's Society, Comeback Pte Ltd, YouthTechsg, Look Up Family, and Singapore Management University's Prof Lim Sun Sun. 🤝
To hear from parents and youths, MDDI will be holding a series of focus group discussions in June and July. Follow our social media channels for details! 📣

Same name and same partial NRIC number? 😳
Many people share the same partial NRIC number, and some even share the same name.
That’s why Government agencies will use your full NRIC number when needed to accurately tell you apart from others.

As we mark 60 years of diplomatic relations between Singapore and Japan, we were delighted to host the inaugural Singapore-Japan Digital Cooperation Dialogue (SJDCD), co-chaired by our 2nd Permanent Secretary (Digital Development) Foo Chi Hsia, and Japan’s Vice-Minister for International Affairs Dr Imagawa Takuo. 🇸🇬🇯🇵
Officials from MDDI and Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications discussed key areas of mutual interest, including artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, online safety, and quantum-safe technology. Representatives from NTT, NEC, Nippon Koei, JICT, Toshiba and SpeQtral shared ongoing projects and discussed potential opportunities for public-private sector collaborations.
The SJDCD was among the initiatives mentioned in the Joint Statement on the establishment of a Strategic Partnership between Japan and Singapore in March 2026, reflecting the importance that both countries accord to digital cooperation.
Building on our strong and longstanding bilateral partnership, we look forward to exploring further areas of cooperation with Japan in the fast-evolving digital landscape.
