Continuing our school outreach, Tasek has landed at Springfield Secondary School! Our Tasek youth, who are also upper secondary students at Springfield, engaged their juniors by sharing their experiences and personal growth through Tasek programmes such as Tasek Sailors football, camps, and academic mentoring via Project BEAM.
They spoke with confidence and were eager to answer questions from their juniors. It was heartening to see them applying the life skills they have learnt 💪
We look forward to welcoming more Springfield Secondary School students into our Tasek family!

Earlier this month, we kicked off the first round of training for our volunteer academic mentors. The session was interactive and engaging, as we explored positive engagement techniques and inquiry-based teaching strategies to spark greater joy in learning during mentoring sessions ✨
We’re proud of our mentors—always enthusiastic and committed to growing their craft, so they can provide the best support to our Tasek children and youth ❤

On 26 February 2025, Tasek conducted an outreach session at Ang Mo Kio Secondary School. Our youths, who are both Tasek football participants and AMKSS students, confidently shared their personal journeys of growth through Tasek.
They spoke about beginning with the Tasek Sailors football programme, gaining competitive experience in the Singapore Youth League and JSSL National Youth League ⚽, and developing leadership through our 15D14N Tasek Rising camps. Today, they also receive academic support via Project BEAM – learning mathematical concepts through football-based applications 📚.
We are also heartened to see that many students who attended the outreach have since joined our Tasek Sailors football programme – a testament to the power of peer influence and youth-led inspiration.
This is youth empowerment in action. We are proud to see our youth step up as confident presenters and positive role models to their juniors in school! ✨

Giving back, one goodie bag at a time! ✨
Our Tasek youth volunteers spent last Sunday evening at Ar-Raudhah Mosque for a community Iftar event, spreading kindness through the distribution of daily essentials and food. They worked together to pack rice into goodie bags, organised them in designated areas, and distributed Iftar bentos and porridge to attendees.

Empathy in Action: Yuhua Changemakers x Tasek!
As part of Bold At Work's 'Yuhua Changemakers' initiative, we had the privilege of hosting Yuhua Secondary students for a human library sharing in January, followed by an Empathy Journey session at our space in February!
Through hands-on activities, students explored how we run GIFT, our early literacy programme, and the impact we strive to create in the community. They took on challenges, reflected on gaps in education, and experienced key elements of our sessions:
🎨 Colouring Station – Engaging little hands through tactile learning
🍪 Token Station – Encouraging participation with small but meaningful rewards
📝 Setting Class Rules – Using visuals (like whiteboards) to create a positive learning environment
A huge thank you to Yuhua Secondary School students for your enthusiasm and thoughtfulness. We hope this experience sparks new ways of thinking about education and community support!💡

On 13 Feb 2025, we had the pleasure of welcoming a group of MOE teachers to Tasek for a learning journey, where we exchanged insights on how we engage children and youth through wraparound mentorship and interest-based programmes. One such initiative is the Tasek Sailors football programme, which provides regular and intensive touchpoints to develop both athletic and life skills.
A key highlight of the session was hearing from Husaini, one of our youths, who shared his personal journey at Tasek. From a volunteer leader to an assistant coach for our competitive team in the Singapore Youth League, his growth exemplifies the impact of meaningful mentorship. Through Tasek, he has developed essential life skills such as time management and communication, which have supported his transition from ITE to Polytechnic. Beyond academics, Husaini continues to step up as Class Chairman and actively gives back through SP CARES.
This learning journey was a great opportunity to reflect on how holistic youth development—through mentorship, sports, and leadership opportunities—can create lasting impact.
Thank you to our MOE teacher visitors for the enriching discussions, and we look forward to more collaborations to support and empower young people!
