This month, Ambassador McGrath had the honour to embark on an official visit to Brunei Darussalam. Together with Second Secretary Charlie Swords, the Ambassador was able to meet with government ministers including the Minister for Transport and Infocommunications, the Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II, the Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism and the Minister of Education. She managed to exchange views on various topics, including education, transport and tourism.
These constructive engagements continue to build upon a strong foundation of friendly relations between Ireland and Brunei.

Amb McGrath was privileged to accept a Champions of Inclusion award this evening from at an event held to mark International Day of Persons with Disabilities
In her remarks, she referenced the Irish phrase ‘Ar scáth a chéile a mhaireann na daoine’ (People live in the shelter of each other) as a reminder of the centrality of inclusion.
The Ambassador recalled the lasting positive impact of the 2003 Special Olympic World Games in Ireland and congratulated Chile as they prepare to host the Games in 2027.
