Youth get holistic support not just from structured mentoring programmes but also informal touch points such as meeting a mentor just once over coffee, joining a fireside chat, learning in the classroom or even support groups from the community or religious affiliations. Great work is done at various organisational and programme level but it is not sufficient to tackle the fast-increasing needs of youth. Only when we work together, can we provide more holistic, real-time support. We call this the youth mentoring ecosystem concept. Youth today are engaged in technology, and thus, it is important to create the ecosystem leveraging on powerful technology, which not only presents a single gateway for youth to find mentors informally, and also formally. WeConnect, launched on 30 Jan 2020, is a centralised platform in Singapore built by youth for youth to address their multiple needs, real time, through offering omni-channel programmes and solutions. WeConnect is personalised and is designed to help youth to take charge of their own lives, in a positive manner. WeConnect is the official platform of the Mentoring Alliance For Action (AfA).
