On Tuesday, 02 June 2026,
Mr. Abdoulaye Sène, President of the Global Water Partnership West Africa (GWP-WA), paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Stanley R. Tsandib. As Namibia prepares to host the Secretariat of the Global Water Partnership Organisation (GWPO) in Windhoek, the meeting provided an opportunity to brief the Ambassador on the activities and operations of the GWP-WA Secretariat and to exchange views on strengthening regional cooperation in water resources management and sustainable development.
Namibia’s hosting of the GWPO Secretariat marks a significant milestone, reinforcing Africa’s growing leadership in global water governance and advancing collective efforts toward water security and sustainable development across the continent and beyond.

On 25 May 2026, the Embassy proudly celebrated Africa Day at King Fahd Palace Hotel in Dakar through showcasing culinary diversity of Namibia. Guests were treated to an array of authentic Namibian cuisines, offering a unique opportunity to experience the country’s traditional flavors and hospitality. The celebration brought together diplomats, government representatives and invited guests in a spirit of unity and solidarity.

On Thursday, 21 May 2026, H.E. Cheick Niang, Minister of African Integration and Foreign Affairs, together with organizing committee of the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games briefed members of the Diplomatic Corps on the forthcoming Dakar 2026 Olympic Games. The meeting provided an opportunity to highlight Senegal’s readiness and ongoing preparations for this historic event, which will mark the first time the Olympic Games are hosted on the African continent.
The Embassy warmly welcomes this milestone for Africa and looks forward with great anticipation to receiving teams from the Land of the Brave in October 2026.

Today, Ambassador Tsandib participated in the Africa Group of Ambassadors meeting held at the African Institute for Economic Development and Planning (IDEP) to discuss preparations for the upcoming Africa Day celebrations in Dakar.
The event, scheduled for 25 May 2026 at the King Fahd Hotel, will feature lecture series, soccer matches, and showcases of African cultures and cuisines.

Today, 20 April 2026, H.E. Stanley Tsandib, accompanied by Dr. Simon Indongo, Deputy Head of Mission, attended the 10th edition of the Dakar Forum on Peace and Security in Africa (20–21 April 2026). Ambassador Tsandib represented Hon. Selma Ashipala-Musavyi, Minister of International Relations and Trade.
The forum convenes high-level policymakers and experts to address Africa’s pressing peace and security challenges under the theme: “Africa facing the challenges of stability, integration and sovereignty: what sustainable solutions?”
The event was graced by H.E. Bassirou Diomaye Faye, H.E. Julius Maada Bio, President of Republic of Sierra Leone and Chairperson of ECOWAS Authority and Heads of State, H.E. Mohamed Ould Ghazouani, President of Islamic Republic of Mauritania, and H. E. Onishi Yohei, the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan.
Their participation reaffirmed the importance of strengthened cooperation, regional integration, and African-led solutions for sustainable peace and development.

On 9 April 2026, Ms. Toska Sem, Executive Director of the Namibia Civil Aviation Authority ( NCAA) and Vice- President of the African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC), representing Southern Africa region, paid a courtesy visit to the Embassy.
The purpose of the meeting was to brief the Mission on key aviation-related matters and to explore areas of mutual interest in advancing cooperation within the civil aviation sector.

On Wednesday, 08 April 2026, H.E. Stanley R. Tsandib, paid a courtesy call on H.E.Dr Mabouba Diagne, Minister of Agriculture and Livestock of Senegal to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector.
Discussions focused on advancing the pending Memorandum of Understanding on agriculture cooperation, as well as addressing existing challenges affecting trade relations between the two countries. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to deepening collaboration and unlocking opportunities for sustainable agricultural development and enhanced trade.

On 9 March 2026, H.E. Stanley R. Tsandib paid a courtesy visit to His Worship Abass Fall, Mayor of Dakar. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss avenues for strengthening cooperation through exchange visits, knowledge transfer, and the promotion of city-to-city diplomacy, including prospects for twinning agreements.
Both sides expressed their readiness to deepen collaboration and further enhance bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of urban planning and development, wastewater treatment, water reclamation, and recycling, among other areas of mutual interest.
