Dr. Hassan Adam Hosow,
Chief Economic Advisor to the President and Executive Director of the National Economic Council, delivered the closing remarks at the dissemination event, highlighting the critical importance of national ownership in shaping Somalia’s economic path. He emphasized that the third edition of the State of the Economy Report represents a milestone in building Somali-led analysis and reflects the growing institutional capacity within the country.

Dr. Hosow acknowledged the economic challenges Somalia continues to face, including the impact of reduced foreign aid. However, he pointed to signs of gradual progress and encouraged all stakeholders to remain committed to resilience, inclusive development, and adapting to the rapidly changing global landscape.

In his final remarks , he extended his deep appreciation to the NEC team for producing this report entirely in-house, without external writers. He praised their professionalism and dedication and thanked all attendees for their valuable participation and support in advancing Somalia’s economic transformation.
