The Government of Jonglei State would like to inform the public that the allegations aired out by Bilpham Radio in a post yesterday 15th April 2026 against H.E Dr. Riek G*i Kok Governor of Jonglei State are basically unfounded and baseless claims.
H.E Dr Riek G*i kok Governor of Jonglei State is a peaceful person and his priority is peace since his first day in the office.
The mission of H.E the Governor to Akobo County was to ensure the safe return of people of Akobo to their homes, further more, H.E the Governor assessed Akobo hospital and the Market for resumption of duties officially.
H.E the Governor did not provide any information to the opposition and this information is false.
In conclusion, the Government of Jonglei State urges the public to disregard all unverified and defamatory information spread by enemies of peace for political gains against H.E Dr. Riek G*i Kok, Governor of Jonglei State.

Today H.E Wilson Awuol Gejang Deputy Governor of Jonglei State received a delegation led by UNICEF Deputy Executive Director Mr. Ted Chiaban accompanied by UNICEF Representative to South Sudan and the team to discuss the ongoing emergency response program and the challenges faced in the implementation in Jonglei State.
The delegation paid a assessment visit to Yuai in Uror County and returned with concerns regarding the protection of UN staff, assessed the facilities that were destroyed, repair the water points and the need to start reconstruction.
H.E Wilson Awuol Gejang Deputy Governor of Jonglei State expressed his appreciation for the visit and the responsed that they have started. Furthermore H.E the Deputy Governor stated the urgent need of NGOS intervention to the affected populations is a priority to the Partners and the Government of Jonglei State assuring that the state Government has already started visiting the communities on the ground to encourage them to return home safely.
Additionally H.E Wilson Awuol Gejang State that the security of NGOS staff is paramount since they have been granted access by the National Government to respond to dire needs of medical supplies, food and non food items for the people of Jonglei State.
The meeting was concluded successfully.

Stakeholders engagement program and long lasting insecticide nets campaigns against malaria organized by Ministry of Health and supporting partners on Wednesday 11th March 2026.
The campaign was to officially start distribution of treated Mosquito nets starting from Bor, Twic East, Duk and Ayod counties to combat Malaria.

H.E Wilson Awuol Gejang Deputy Governor and Acting Governor of Jonglei State together with State Ministers received a delegation of United Nations comprised of Under- Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator. United Nations, United Nations coordinator in South Sudan, head of UCHA and other partners involved who traveled to Akobo County from Upper Nile state then to Bor Airstrip in Jonglei State.
The delegation expressed their concern about the situation of the IDPs in Akobo and marked their visit as strategic visit to assess the current situation of the IDPs in order to respond.
The delegation appreciates the Government of Jonglei State for working together with NGOs partners and granting access for the humanitarian agencies.
The Government of Jonglei State appreciated the delegation for the visit and recognizes the urgent need for Humanitarian interventions.

H.E Wilson Awuol Gajang Deputy Governor and Acting Governor of Jonglei State together with State Ministers received a delegation comprised of Hon. Albino Akol Atak Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Mrs. Anita Kiki the United Nations Deputy special Representative of the secretary General and Humanitarian coordinator, Undersecretary of Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and other partners that were heading to Poktap via Bor Airstrip.
This visit is intended for assessing the situation of the IDPs in Poktap and cholera outbreak in the area.
Hon. Albino Akol Atak stated that they have come to assess and see the situation of the IDPs in Poktap in order to deliver assistance to the people in need furthermore the visit is aimed at assessing the cholera outbreak situation since access to Humanitarian agencies have been granted to the northern Counties Ayod, Nyirol, Uror and akobo and expressed his appreciation to the Government of Jonglei State for the support and stands in solidarity with the people and the Government of Jonglei State.

H.E Wilson Awuol Gajang Deputy Governor and Acting Governor of Jonglei State in his remarks expressed the urgent need for Humanitarian interventions in delivering assistance to IDPS in Duk and Poktap, urges the communities to return back to their home since the security situation is now in order for assistance to be delivered to the people.
In conclusion H.E Deputy Governor extendes his deepest appreciation to Honorable Minister and the team for taking the initiative to visit Poktap in Jonglei State.
